Not to burst anyone’s bubble, but I don’t get what is so good about the M14? Why don’t we have the gel version of our beloved wooden stocked SLR? Plus you’re likely (or WAT is likely) to sell more to Aussie veterans, than they would a M14.
Even some Americans will admit the FAL/SLR/L1a1 was a better rifle than the M14.
Got my M14 and Garand from sendle today - nice of them to not take 3 days to deliver to me.
This is what’s blowing my mind right now though - the quality of the packaging. Nice painted box, large QPS warning on on the bottom and snug foam fittings for the entire blaster. Freaking GM GBBRs that cost double this only comes with a black box and two loose pieces of foam.
First impressions of the M14 are - it shoots (yay). Had some ancient black labels and it shot some, confetti-ed some. Shoots hard because even in this state it broke through the target cardboard box. No joy with the (equally as ancient) Ultra elites, didn’t even look liked it was feeding properly in the mag.
Mag wise - it should fit around 100ish rounds, had 50 and it was about half full.
The battery compartment can be a bit too shallow - standard size 11v and I have to fold the wires a bit carefully to close the cover. Long sticks won’t fit here.
3.5kg so a fair bit heavier than a nylon AEG. You’ll want a strap for game days as it can be quite slippery with the wood finish.
Trigger’s nothing to write home about.
Bolt is just sex, no actual mechanical function to it except just racking it, and you will be racking it, and everybody you show it to will want to rack it
I also got the M1 Garand and the M14 today as well from WAT International. Exactly the same as Deity333. There are 2 option of wood on the M1 , I also choose dark brown. I also bought the optics mount.
THe grips are specially made for fitting WE P226. It won’t fit DB P226( I tried). I bought it from Hong Kong cost US$55. Better than buying those grips from Aliexpress or Ebay which require a lot of dremeling and sanding to fit.
