Interesting… high quality nylon shell, some metal components, like the trigger… with Glock style trigger safety. The spring loaded mag holds about 20 gels but the follower pulls up short of completely feeding the mag before slide lockback… follower needs to be longer (next job) to completely empty the mag.
Tiny 7.4v lipo fits in the mag, much like the 3DG Glocks. It’s a bit of a squeeze so I fettled an extended base onto the mag to allow a little more room for a larger lipo… will now fit a slightly bigger 7.4v lipo and a small 11.1v lipo.
Definitely not a hard hitter at around 150FPS on 7.4v and that drops to around 130FPS using an 11.1v lipo, so 7.4v, while less snappy on the trigger, is the way to go. Seems to feed eveything fairly reliably, tried goldbag milkies, LDT heavy milkies, AT greens, WI reds, iHobby ultra hards and Ultra Elites. Best FPS results were with gb milkies and the reds but all gels fed flawlessly.
I’ve been told an upgrade spring’s available for these that gets it up around 210FPS (@BME like your EBB pistol, I guess?) but I’ve yet to find it. Two spare mags are on the way from iHobby, now I have to find the tiny 7.4v batteries to go in them.
Overall a good little unit with potential, but pretty anemic in stock form, very similar to the old SKD Beretta M90TWO blasters from years ago👍
Already got the Singularity box, build should be done before it gets here minus the extendo-trigger. Not looking for high ROF, more high torque, monster spring, high FPS territory.
The ZH M249 is a pretty cool blaster… I did mine with a singularity box and a stack of other stuff, very fun blaster and has seen many skirmishes… massive mag and light but looks huge… just good fun
I spy Harris bipod or knock off of such, the best when you go Rambo grab a leg for a foregrip.
I’ll never forget that footage in Afghanistan, US Gunner popped around the corner, arhg unloaded non stop 200 rnds while his SGT is standing in the open yelling at him to fkn quit it and wtf are you shooting at there is nothing there besides walls and the street you just blasted, and your supposed to do burst fire, unload that fkn thing now. It was hilarious.
From memory… and I haven’t done one in AGES, singularity fits well with an actual gen8 tpiece, just needed a little trimmed off the feed tube so it doesn’t push the receiver outwards.
The ZH tpiece and nozzle were just a little different in length… from memory anyway, as I say it has been awhile!
