Shell Kit MP-5K Rebuild...( or...Double mag, ain't no drag!)

No worries mate, better off parts go to people who appreciate them and are actually able to use them, as the bits I’m holding onto are for display purposes only. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

are my eyes deceiving me, or are some of those mags (semi) transparent.??

And yeah…towels are good.

Saves scratching the kitchen bench, doesn’t mark the outer shells, and bits caught as you said…

Yes, they are all semi transparent dark tinted plastic, the same as the original tinted plastic parts like your t-piece.

I only have one full black mag that I got with the Blaster, but all spare mags are the tinted see through… so unsure if factory HQI accessories or aftermarket, but makes sense that they are original HQI accessories if they are made from the same type of plastics as other parts in the blaster… especially considering that they were the only MP5 on the market at the time, I don’t know if any other companies would have been manufacturing aftermarket Magazines to fit these rare low volume Blasters?

Doesn’t matter… I’ll grab em…!!

Leave em original for novelty value.

And, if my original black one dies…just transplant the parts…

That’s it mate, it’s the internal parts that are always the biggest bonus to have available for spares, as it would be impossible to find anything for these old things! :astonished::sunglasses:

Solder definitely won’t be strong enough.

I lengthened terminal springs on a blaster once using 1/4" pop rivets… punched the tail through the rivet and stuck it into the terminal springs. They fit tight, don’t come out and lengthen the contact by a couple of millimetres which was enough to make good contact with the mag.

Might be an option for you. :man_shrugging:

it will probably sit better now, that the magwell is fully in and up.

Mag sits a few mm higher…that extra height was keeping it apart.

Its now tight , to get the mag in.!

The solder should hopefully last a while… i’ll see how it goes with Docbobs other mag when i get it.

@DocBob I’m happy for you to send all the mags to @BME
Mine has been modified to suit ldt mags, and while this is the only modifications apart from air seal and spring, I got it for free missing a few parts that I had to ā€œbush mechanicā€ or 3d print to build it…

Shell itself is original with a Jing Ming gen8 in it, and a printed terminal plate to use ldt mags.

I do appreciate the offer, but would rather it go to an all original kit owner like BME

Very generous offer.!!
You sure you don’t want any…before i snaffle em up.?.?

Nah they are all yours.
Maybe if I had a Tesla to trade :rofl::rofl:

Cheers, bud…!!
Let me know if you change your mind!!

I also accept Rolex, speedboats and helicopters, as trades….!!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Goodonya mate :+1: I was still going to send you a dual mag, but after reading your conversations with @BME , I’ll be sending them all his way instead, seeing as you have modified yours already. :sunglasses:

At least you know who to hit up if you need anything in the future! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

punched the tail

Now ya talking  :+1:

Maybe I should have said ā€œgrabbed a hammer and drove the rivet tail through the rivetā€.

Slightly less ambiguous? :joy:

Drive it up your … not going to work is it

Got the extra mags from @DocBob …thanks for that.!!

They all feed well, (except for the one without a motor).

No soldering of contacts required.

The initial problem was, i could see the mag motor spinning and feeding…but no gels firing out of the blaster. Transparent mags make it easy to see whats going on.

I suspected the lower part of the t piece, was not going down into the mag far enough, to push the spring loaded mag-gate back.

Either that, or Docbob has upgraded the mag gate spring, with a M140…!!!
Not outside the realms of possibility…

My original mag, has no gate or spring.

So, removed all the mag gates, and now feeding fine.
Happy days…!!

Good to see they arrived safely and that you solvered the gel release catch not operating in the blaster. :+1:

Certainly got PLENTY of pew pew capacity now!

X-ray vision helps…!

Certainly saves having to pull shit apart trying to diagnose issues! :joy::+1:
