STG44 and MP40

that makes heaps of sense. thank you

sorry, I did originally ask if that looked normal, it appeared like it was a broken O ring or seal but that diagram explains it that part perfectly, thanks

regarding the nozzle tip rubber itself does feel a bit ratshit compared to nozzle tips on my other guns so I am thinking that nozzle tip may need replacing, but probably better off upgrading a few other things as well…

but thanks again for clarifying the tappet is as it should be

cheers

Going off the pics. I remember you showed the off centre Internal Barrel when you first got it and questioned it.

Without hands on, there is an airseal problem there because of alignment is my guess. Which would be at the nozzle.

If it’s something else do tell. What this place is for info sharing. I could be way off but I spent time blowing your pics up and having a real good look. Still correct me if I’m wrong I swing hammers and spanners. No such thing as a blaster technician anyway. If they argue, show us your certification, bet they can’t. Enthusiasts and hobby only.

It all needs to be aligned and reasonably stable… from the rear of the gearbox through to tip of the barrel, or there will be trouble. Trying to help you out. Don’t give up you’ll get there eventually and learn along the way. :+1: :+1:

I’m still thinking the same about the misalignment… but also the depth of the nozzle into the t-piece as I stated originally.

Would definitely benefit trying out lengthening the nozzle with an o-ring a millimetre or whatever size that gains results :+1:

@shadow187 grab a small o-ring the same diameter as your nozzle rubber and glue it onto the face of the existing rubber where it would contact inside the t-piece.

I usually do it the other way around and fit the o-ring inside the t-piece… but I’m not sure if spare t-pieces are available, so gluing to the nozzle is a safer option :ok_hand:

 look at the IB match up to the T piece sealing area and the face of the nozzle area. Hard to see but an o ring won’t cure it. Temporary might help but won’t work for long.

dunno-idunno

Yes it’s just a temporary measure to test out to see if it improves the air sealing, which if it does, then time to look at spacing out the nozzle rubber :+1:

I’ll have to look at it later in the week, gotta get my work and personal utes cleaned ready for service so limited time for gel blasters for a few days, also need to get another set of O rings as the two packs I currently have only has limited sizes

but will definitely look into it asap

I might even have to look at getting a gel sorted to help guarantee a better chance at consistency, the gels have been prepped and drained approximately but I have noticed some differences in sizes from the same batch of gels in each different batch of the different gels I was trying with it

cheers

Can’t go wrong with one of these :+1:

I just got sten magazine ptsd flashbacks…!!:rofl:

My apologies mate… I should have recognised the similarities and given a fair warning first :astonished::joy:

ZB-26…

There you go, we’re even…!!
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Here’s a demo and review on those gel sorters.

Great thing… I believe the only issue LG had was with the size of bottle it accepts, bottle cap threads must be different in China. Pretty sure he 3D printed three adaptors to take Aussie sized bottles.

expensive little things tho, obviously a great tool to have to aid in using the optimal sized gels only but $80… hopefully can find a cheaper one or find one on sale

cheers

Size sorting’s one of those things you’re either into or you’re not. :man_shrugging:

Personally I don’t get hung up about it, running 7.5 barrels pretty much everything goes through. But I get that it matters with tighter bores and picky setups.

And if I’m getting variable FPS because of gel size, it’s not like I’ve got a bionic eye with an inbuilt chrono… I’m not going to know about it and won’t care in the excitement of gameplay if one gel comes out slower than the one before it. The next one’ll come out faster.

I can’t Sten it when you guys play up and I’m not about to join in. :+1:

I run 7.3mm IB mostly, 7.5mm or 7.6mm on the shorties like the ARP9 to get the fps up, but I also run one type of harder gel at a grow time that gets them right where I need them after some trial and error. But I don’t bother grading them.

I found the water gels grow in does cause inconsistences so stick to rain water, town water chlorine and flouride at varying doses across Australia. @shadow187

Others find it different, of course there was always the special sauce magic wonder stuff like has been drank…Gel aid

@shadow187 …what was your end result, with your mp-40.?
All sorted ok…??

My first stab at weathering the All Black Mp-40…
A bit harder, as its all one colour.
Its hard stuff to apply, blob then smear, but thankfully, you can remove it with a chem wipe…

“Before, All Black”

After…

Not quite happy.
Will re-do mag area on RHS.

Its easier with holes and grooves etc.
You can pu the initial dab, into a corner, get the blob off your finger, and are left with a small workable area.

Not so easy, on flat open areas…

You don’t want it looking, like you have had a pillow fight, in a meth lab…!!

I just had a thought, i might try using a earbud as a applicator, much smaller and easier to control…!

I honestly don’t know… probably just the gels not set properly or something. at the end of the day it shoots gels and like you guys are saying too high fps is no good for accuracy.

I just wanted something that pumped hard, it does, not always as consistent fps as it probably should but i don’t even care anymore.

this hobby’s pretty much been tainted for me because I went all out buying a bunch of blasters hoping to get into it with my kids and my partner and now the kids have fuck all interest in them cuz all they care about is their iPads and my partner tears shreds off me about spending so much on the blasters like they’re all for me when I got them for us all to play with and enjoy. kinda zapped all the fun out of them for me

Dont worry too much about the kids ‘lack of interest’…

unfortunately, we now live in the age of the ’ drug of digital distraction’.
Addiction is a very real thing.

I saw a (about )2.5-3 year old in a pram, with a ipad stuck in front of her…
What hope do they have.??

Seriously addicted to anything with a screen, with withdrawl symptoms and tantrums, if they dont have it.

Like Bex and DDT, im sure time will show it to be a massively harmful thing, resulting in a generation of stunted, underdeveloped people, lacking social skills, and even unaware that a real world exists, beyond the realm of pixels…

It is nice listening to the kids next door, running around, screaming, jumping having a pool party.

Shame your partner is not supportive.
Dont let her lack of interest, curb your interest.

I’m sure she has her own hobbies / interests, she spends time and money on…
