Tactical Edge’s own brand of hardened gels work well for us, as do the Command Elite Hobbies Gladiators, the Renegade Alpha’s from GBU and also the Goat Balls. Worth trying a few out if you can get them
Tried out Goat Balls for the first time yesterday. Lots of hype about these when they were released.
Gotta say, not super impressed with the recommended growth times on the packaging. I grew two batches, one for two hours which should yeild gels about 7.3mm, and another batch for a full four hours which is not recommended at all.
The short grow resulted in gels well under 7.3mm, so small that I was getting regular t piece jams with two gels sitting side by side like a pair of knackers in the t piece. Low FPS when they did feed and fire.
The full four hour grow gave better results, the majority coming in at around 7.3-7.4mm pretty consistently, more consistently than the old version of Ultra Elites at any rate.
Overall, I found them to be nothing special. Think I’ll give the new Ultra Elites a go and see if they’re a little more impressive. 
I never found goat balls to be as good as the bro science collective at the GSAU discord hyped them up to be.
I did find them better a week later, grow and store for a week.
I don’t have that sort of discipline for timed grows of 2hrs 34min… and grow a week before I need them. Hard pass for me.
New ultra elite V2 have been good for me so far.
In water, go to bed. Wake up and drain. Good for almost two months now.
That is my kind of gel

You must have very different water to me 
Usually 1hr45 for UE V2s gives around 7.3mm and slightly above diameter. (normal tap water)
When I first got some, I tried leaving some in water for over 12hrs. Had to toss the lot, all different sizes, probably none that would even fit through a 7.5 barrel.
So far the main sell point for ultra elite v2s is I can’t get them to jam anything. Even 26hour grow in a 7.3mm barrel. Sure the fps does suffer but they still pop out!
wow. surprised this thread is still going. even more surprised when you search “Best gel ball” its on top of the google search.
So im updating what i have started doing. I have gotten Summer cats and started using them. and what can i say? They are amazing! better than anything we have here. WAT clear gels are probably the clear second

On a separate note, what’s the deal with Xtac Booms? Ultra hard but slightly larger, like 7.5mm?
i pay someone else that imports them. $5 per bag if you get 10 at once

The first chrono test was with my main blaster. has an apache in it and a 7.3 mm MW barrel with hopup (which has now changed to a optac 7.5). it has by far been the fussiest blaster i have owned when it comes to gels. The first couple of shots i done did explode out of it Which tends to be normal with blaster regardless of what gels i use in it. After that every shot worked well with no issues. I personally dont actually do crush weights and just move to using the blasters that i own that is the harshest on gels.

When i tested out at the field I was running Hk416 and LH sig 552. The hk was inaccurate and I suspect it’s the hopup. Some tuning made it a little better but it was bad overall. The sig 552… fucking accurate and great range. No gels exploded. I handed the gels over to a regular that was using a HPA. He loved it as well asking me to refill his mag to run them.
sadly i cannot upload the videos that i took shooting them. But i was using a tavor in the video. 260 FPS, about 32 meters away from the tree i had more summer cats impact the tree over Goats. it was actually really noticeable. I used a Predator mk3 suppressor with a hop up

Not a issue at all! I tried to word it out to sound better for someone so incompetent as me. If you need any additional info at all on them, i am always happy to provide some. I do have the coloured versions that i have yet to test and some gels in a gold bottle called “CZ” which is another Chinese gel

When i finally pull my finger out i will do another review on these CZ gels. The guy i get them through tend to send me additional gels to test. so no doubt there will be more next year aswell
Nice data. Seen alot of the summer cats going in the GSAU discord. Same as other gels for people getting different results, so I haven’t given them a look yet.
Best gel balls is subjective. Every blaster and water supply. And even batches are different. Hell even a gel that goes well in 10 blasters will be awful in another one, then a gel that is great in that ones good well in half the others and so on.
When I worked at a store I once used a gel in a blaster that was laser beaming as they say. Tried it in the next blaster out of the master box, didn’t even feed, but another gel that was awful in the first went beautifully. Variables in mass production is wild card at best.
End of the day, try a heap and work it out. There is no best gel, just best gel for a blaster. The medium of gel is never going to be perfect, it’s what we have and it is fun to try things out. Anything that gets you involved and shooting gels is a good time.

Most defiantly. there will never be the best gel. But if there’s something more consistent than others i consider it a win. and so far they are the best that i have tried personally. But others can had a completely different experience as seen in GSAU

Similar to Kangaroo balls. My Dad and his mate said I had to eat them to be initiated into the Tintinara Mounted Rifles Club at age 10.
Affected by the environmental temperature and water quality, all 7-8mm gel balls are similar, including different hardness. The balls produced under different conditions still have differences
