Bolt catch assembly help (ignore, figured out myself)

Good evening GBF. Recently I disassembled my v2 gen9 gearbox to find any way to insert pistol grip nuts that for some reason never been there. After finding out there’s no way to put the nuts due to being too big I assembled gearbox back, and it’s all functional except for bolt catch. It don’t catch anything, too high or something.

I’ve tried too Google it out and got nothing. Plus I ended up with little screw I simply forgot where it goes and can’t even guess where.

Please help, beer on me if it will work.

I get all the beer.

You put spring on bolt catch, not under

And extra screw goes on mag prime

Nice work mate, this gen9 is years ahead of the gen9s we in Australia are used to seeing which are all around 7-8 years old with totally different gearbox.

Yeah, I was going to say that box looks nothing like any Gen 9 box I’ve ever seen. :person_shrugging:

Anyway, all good. Sorted, and you get the beer.

Now, i want a beer :rofl: to early for one tho!

I dunno, that’s the name of product

You should post the link so the boys can look into acquiring one of these

They deliver only in Russia

Hmm :face_with_monocle:

I think I just found it on AliExpress

Outdoor CS jinming gen9 original factory gear box New version Toy Sports Gel ball gun accessories NA23

They have a few other gearboxes on there as well

I don’t get it… that doesn’t look like a Gen 9.

Gen 9 boxes are a different shape, they have a curve on the back of them to fit the receiver… unless JM have redesigned the Gen 9 shell. The V2s are straight and don’t fit Gen 9s. Easy to see in this photo.

That’s also why MK Tactical came out with the Hybrid 92 CNC box… specific to Gen 9.

Looks like a bit of misinformation from Ali-X there. :person_shrugging:

Must be misinformation on the site old mate showed as well

When I seen it I clicked on it and from what I saw, it looked strikingly similar to if not identical to the one he posted up

But you’d have a much better idea about it than myself

Wouldn’t be the first time AliExpress got something wrong tho

That’s exactly the gearbox I got in my hands, yes. About if it’s really gen9, I honestly don’t know. Place where I bought it also calls it gen9.

I know… and it’s not a Gen 9.

Once again, looks nothing like a Gen 9… the box below is a Gen 9 gearbox, completely different arse end on it.

Whatever that box is, it would not fit in a Gen 9 receiver.

Newer “gen9” is wizard’s… jin Ming has changed hands and moulds etc over time… because why not muddy the waters!
Of course here is Australia we never seen the newer one.

There ya go then… :+1:

Answers that question. :ok_hand:

Can’t confirm any of that. I placed this gearbox in 3d printed shell meant for v2 and it fits like a glove

So… as Rok said it’s basically a V2 and Jin Ming have redesigned the Gen 9 shell to accept it.

Weird.
