Calling all blaster owners to action

Any aiming system, is a bit of a contradiction, for gel.

They are just not, and never will be, inherently accurate.

If you can get a dinner plate, at 10-12m… thats pretty good.

Having said that, a red dot is as much about aesthetics, as aiming.

If you want one for that reason…grab one.

Plenty of cheapies around, on ebay.

They’re OK for the general direction in CQB…

But, at the end of the day, its all just “spray and pray”…!

Their we go you guys have any ideas

I got this one recently.

$35. Cheap.

It works Okay…and it went on a scar as well.

Its just a “the gels will land somewhere around here” type of aiming system…

Yeah im trying to get new mags but apparently mine is discontinued you know what model it is?

Yep.
Its a Jin Ming ACR .

Mags are avail at ihobby.

They also have an earlier model magazine, which is straighter.

These blasters are easy to pull apart, and upgrade spring ond o-ring.

There is a thread here, on the pull apart…

Isn’t the ACR-R a rocker mag? But that 2nd one is a straight pull? Or were just pointing out there are two different models?

Thanks ill have a look ar it btw how many mags do you recommend bringing?

if thats your primary…i’d go for at least 3 total.

See if you wanna keep that blaster, or get something else.

The best mags for those are the J11 mags.
Do NOT buy the Act/r mags as they do have feed issues due to the mag being a bit shit.

The J11 mags are awesome. And have a better fit, more capacity, and more reliable feeding.

Yeah, you’re lucky having the rock’n’lock mag version. Much better. :ok_hand:

Like Rok said, J11 mags for that blaster. :+1:

The ACR I had was the early one, even so I found it ran better with Gen 9 stanag mags over the OG ACR P-mags.

It’s good to have options with JM.

I’ve found that the JM J12 mag works better than the J11 mag in my ACR/R

J10 mags don’t fir with the ACR/R

is there any progress being made on gel blaster laws? I’m from WA and as far as i know right now the current law is that they aren’t a firearm, but a “prohibited weapon”, and these import restrictions for states where they are obtainable seem silly.

Pretty much nailed it. Illegal in WA.
Still legal to buy, own and operate in QLD.

Progress on imports however is slower than expected. Just getting applications submitted has huge delays waiting for Home Affairs database to be updated.
It will be at least another couple of months before we here any update on imports, retailers are really hoping to get them over the line sooner rather than later.

Hey mate, I’m in Southwest WA and would be happy to be able to catch up with you at the coffee table if you are within a couple of hundred kilometres of Perth! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Able to sit down and fully discuss what is legal here and what isn’t.:+1:

Not to be a smartarse but just to clear up any confusion…

An ACR is a J10. Jin Ming, for reasons only known to them, released it in two versions, the straight mag model and the rocker mag version.
Gen 9 mags are fully compatible with the straight mag ACRs.

J11 AK mags are compatible with the rocker mag ACRs

And God help you if you have a HeE ACR… although the teardown procedure was ridiculously easy. Just had to live with the horrendous trigger lag. :joy: They were compatible with Gen 8 mags, iirc.

So, the J11 AK mags Dont fit the original, straighter mag ACR blaster.?

Mine feed OK most of the time, but the Ausgel mags are cheap as, and give larger mag capacity…

No, they don’t. The AK style rocker mags only fit the later version of the J10 ACRs. Pretty evident in the pics, two completely different retention systems… that’s a J11 mag in an ACR in the bottom photo, btw.

Which version do you have, straight or rocker?

@DocBob apologies for the thread drift again. Maybe migrate these over to the ACR thread?

early model straight mag system.

Oh well, those mags work well enough…

Ok all ordered bought 4 of them just in case one breaks and its a steal $7.50AU for a magazine usually $25AU thats a big steal
