Fixing SRC Blaster with low FPS, gels getting stuck in barrel

I don’t really service many of my blasters the higher stress ones like my CYMA custom that is 350fps 36rps I have serviced.

Generally anything 30rps and under you don’t service unless it’s showing signs like loss in fps, starts sounding different or chewing through batteries more… return springs going is usually a perfect time to service!

I basically recommend not touching it if it works as expected. Leave it until it needs a return spring or something. If built right that is.

I do have one of my favourite game day blasters in the category that I need to service it, and haven’t used it in a while because of that… it works fine… it is a 340fps 30rps blaster that has just been flogged… and I’ve never opened it since building it… still works fine I just would like to service it.

Might make a neat video at some point.

Would like to see that :+1:

I just give mine a bore punch, lube and grease to stop rust when they don’t do 3000fps. Get all the sand out.

Ah bugger wrong category.

Makes for a fun game day and hearing protection is required

Gears started screeching on this rebuild today, don’t have it apart yet but I feel like its pinion gear/bevel gear issue.

Its all good though I’m sure I’ll learn something from it :+1:

In the end I had to hand this one over to a professional. The Tamiya connector getting hot to the touch and the bevel/pinion gear making an awful noise after the gearbox repair needed checking

Rok was kind enough to 3D print a hopup for it so I spent about half hour testing the Rok Hop, compared it to an an Azreals 3D printed hellfire and an ihobby style hopup. The Rok Hop was the best of the three so it stayed on there and will do for the foreseeable future.

Played a 40 minute game and it ran really well, as mentioned in the video its a heavy bit of kit so I’m certainly starting to appreciate my smaller and lighter blasters.

This will be a backup / loaner from here on out and for that its perfect. Doing 330fps with good accuracy

Thanks for the kind words mate, makes it all worth it!
Actually just popped on to message you and see how the blaster went out on the weekend, saved me a message!

And glad your happy with my hopup! At this point it has undergone many redesigns and tweaks, and I usually adapt the model to suit the amount of inner barrel protruding.

My 3d printing quality isn’t quite “commercial quality” but it does come in handy! Often remodelled to suit weird things!

And that blaster is amazingly heavy for a nylon blaster, I have full metal M4s that weigh in less by a good margin!

Hope she serves you well mate!
Thanks again.
