Gel Ball Nobody's nonsense corner

This one is more for the rest of the world than us Aussies, but it is a fun one.
I felt that making a massive video so I can just send a link will save me more time and hassle than answering all the questions I get on this one. Seriously, I am over some of the stupid questions, so from now they will just get a link to the videos!

The DS Draco upgrade - Movie length feature film! LOL.
One and DONE! I can move on to other things now.

I did my best to make this one helpful and entertaining, but it is also designed to scare off those without the skills and knowledge to tackle it. These are NOT a simple AK in some respects, but in others they are. Also there are things that are done well, and some that are cheap and annoying. It is a gel blaster, so that is to be expected!

It is also a major upgrade with almost no holds barred, so many things may be well above a beginner, but the basics are there for them too.

I have kept in a few mishaps and mistakes, so come have a laugh with me- and at me!
Time stamps/chapters included! I learnt something new! …yippee.

I suspect that, and encourage the comments section to be a wild ride so please- go nuts haha.

Available at 4pm today! Enjoy the ride!

One of the guitar content creators I subscribe to always limits his vids to 20 minutes… he claims it’s about as long as you can go without risking people tuning out and switching off. :person_shrugging:

I don’t agree… I’d rather watch an hour and see the whole thing than watch it in installments a week apart.

It’s not Netflix ffs.

Best advice is you do you… if the content’s entertaining and relevant, do whatever works. :+1:

I’d agree, there are a few channels I watch that have videos between 20mins and 1.5hrs… with the odd one even longer…

A few factors lead to a movie length episode.

  1. I just wanted a single link to send.
  2. I haven’t tried it yet
  3. for this one it just felt better than the results of split into 2 or 3 parts.

Normally with the multi episode builds/videos I make a movie length then just find an area that splits with a bit of sense… this one sort of flowed and just didn’t have a clear spot to split it up.

I am also not ever planning to monetize the channel, so views and watch hours are a thing I don’t really look for or look into. I just do my thing.

There is a final factor.

My Draco review video has more views than the 3 top views behind it combined! Sounds impressive.

However by watch time, it’s not the highest, it is second. Also subscribers from the Draco video are pretty low.

Which tells me most Draco video viewers either have no attention span, or the viewers aren’t suited to the style of video.

So by doing one massive upgrade video, it seems like the opposite of what should be done, but in my opinion it will act as a filter for those with the determination to learn from those with the total lack of it, and it won’t have one part with thousands of views and the others with very few.

Ultimately, I have other content I wish to put out instead of Draco videos. I just wanted it to be over.
And now I can send a link when I get stupid questions rather than break out the crayons to try and explain it.

To give you an idea of the situation…

I could do an entire episode of the stupid questions I’ve had since being Nobody, and nearly all of them would be Draco related!

Hmmmm… :thinking::thinking::thinking:

But…

how does the battery fit.?.?

Haha… Yes, that will be the last video I do on the Draco. It is also covered in this video though.

I haven’t been on Akgelblasters Discord since I went out bush, and I’m fully aware of “the Draco Crew” mentality that I witnessed there, let alone the madness you have dealt with from the average Draco owner!:open_mouth::roll_eyes:

Watched the new draco video to the end, definitely well above my abilities with my fiddle fingers but was a great watch, funny as fuck as always. Learnt a few things but whether I can put what I learnt into practice :sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

Watched the draco vid last night and agree with Shadow - great watch and funny.

I can relate to some of the things Rok experienced - looking for a part that you removed and has now seemingly vanished, assembling stuff and then realizing there is still a part on the bench that should NOT be still there on the bench.

And sometimes you get to the point where you feel like “screaming into the void”. That’s when I say “f**k this” and walk away from it for a while. Or, depending on the time of day, head for the beer fridge :grinning:

Watched the Draco video just because I knew that it would be a good laugh.

Cracked a Bush Chook when I pressed the play button, suddenly went through a 6 pack before I even got to the end! :joy:

Great video @RokSolid ,
thoroughly enjoyed it even though I fkn hate Draco’s!

Yeah… agree with you on that last point, Doc.

To me, Draco’s look like they’ve been beaten severely with the world’s biggest ugly stick.

But… horses for courses. :person_shrugging:

Draco, an abomination from USA laws to get AK’s in country.

Thanks everyone. I did put a significant effort into it to satisfy the Draco owners on the how I did it side but also on the just make it watchable for entertainment value side.

I do don’t scripts it’s all just me chatting to myself and editing it to make some sense later.

For the most part I just wanted to do it once and be done. I have no intention of ever doing another Draco video, and tbh it’s very unlikely as I have upgraded my two, @BME s and there one more I still have which for now and it has a potential buyer who is a tech and will not be enlisting me to touch it.

That leaves 4 others in the country. I have no idea what will come of them, but I can say they for the most part weren’t sold to players, more to collectors so it’s pretty unlikely I will ever see one to do again. And if course there are other techs out there!

So we can move on! Yew.

Glad your all enjoying the videos, keeps me going and pushing on. I have a few videos to edit now, and many more blaster work to keep it going .

Also video 100 is approaching… no idea what to do for it and whether or not to do something different, but nothing’s out of the question I spose.

Video 100…!,
Congrats.,!

It can’t do 100…but a pulse rifle counter can display “99”, and tick over…!!
Just saying…:rofl::rofl::rofl:

100th Birthday could be done as a reflection of memories regarding your past videos and maybe a little story about your journey into the Hobby of where you started and how you got to where you are now.

I can certainly guarantee that you wouldn’t do it in a boring David Attenborough documentary style, but more of a funny and relaxed “sit around the fire with a couple of Beers” type look back and laugh casual chat.:+1:

Gotta put on the David Attenborough voice tho with the comedy mixed in, would be a great laugh…

“And here we have a heavily modified Draco reintroduced to its natural habitat, unsuspecting to its adversaries, when it unloads a furious firestorm of summer cat green gelatinies into the face of its opponent, it is easy to see how it has become the envy of the pack”
