J10 ACR thread

But there’s Chillips as well these days :face_with_peeking_eye:

New M3 screws did the trick…

Burrowing into crappy chinese nuts at the moment…halfway there replacement wise, but at least they went in firmly.

When removing the old chinese nuts from inside the gearbox, are they just glued in?
Best way to remove them.?
Best glue to use, when inserting new ones.?

Would blue loctite hold them in place in their slot ( to the nylon gearbox), or better with a dab of araldite.?

Thanks…

na dont use blue loctite thats weak. I was just joking around a bit because I am a lunatic.

You want the 262 red stuff that does the trick.

You want to get yourself a set of these

JIS Vessel Screwdriver Set - Japanese Motorcycle Screwdrivers

JIS Japanese industrial standard high quality and my favourite can fkn hit with a hammer. They are the best Vessel not too hurting on the wallet either

All toyotas and everything JIS and not Chillps  :+1:

Thread locker is only for fine tolerances in the screw threads. Blue for very fine screws and Semi Permanent holding force, whereas like Maiphut commented, Red for a longer, stronger bond. :+1:

As far as fixing the floating nuts in the housing, definitely need a 2 part Epoxy like Araldite to get the job done!

you read my mind… i was after a decent set of drivers…!

The bunnings range ain’t all that great…

They are awesome set I tell ya and good shop too. Accommodated me within a week el pronto :+1:

Bit of an old thread, I know… but…

In my search amongst my blasters to find the most accurate one, my ACR is a standout. It’s a shootout between the J10 and J11, with the ACR winning out with better build quality.

It’s basically a stock unit with metal outer barrel, alloy inner, SHS gears in the Gen 9 box and an M90 spring. Good for a solid 280 on the chrono.

After rereading this thread, @RokSolid has inspired me to look into possibly fitting a spare full metal CYMA box into this unit and going to town on the FPS.

@RokSolid Did you end up going on with that CYMA V2 transplant? Inquiring minds want to know.

Not a cyma… I have tried a few V2 into my original one, closest was the JG box as the J10 tpiece sort of fitted it.

From memory the J9/10 box is different in the front, back and top all just enough to make it a headache.
Never went all the way and ended up with the H92 MK box!

The H92 MK box is the standout choice as it is almost a drop in, only needed the holes for grip screws elongated to fit.
