Just picked up a KELe HK USP springer and I’m absolutely stoked with it but despite scouring the internet for info, I’m unable to find anything much on the technical aspects of these Blasters. Anybody with information regarding maintenance, upgrades, modifications and preferred ammunition type please share your experience.
If it’s anything like the other KELe springers, and I imagine it is, I’d say a strip down, clean and oil now and then is all they ever need.
I’ve got a KELe G17 and a G26 and that’s all I do.
As far as upgrades go, about all you can do is beef up the piston spring… I don’t think the 10-20 FPS gain is really worth the effort though, I’ve tried it in both and put them back to stock. Smoother cocking.
I can tell you spare parts and upgrade parts are non-existent for these manuals. Fun little bits of kit for backyard plinking though.
@BME have you got one of these in your KELe collection? Anything to add?
Yeah the lack of spare parts is what I’m kinda concerned about. I’m a little bit hesitant to start fucking around with something until I know that I already have spares or they are quickly and easily obtainable.
Yeah I’m tempted to add an M92 to my collection but I think the constant racking might piss me off too much due to the placement of the safety de-cock lever.
It used to shit me on the real one but at least I only had to pull it back once every range visit due to the slide locking back on empty then just popping in a new magazine. The PT99AFS was a much better set-up in that regard.
May still grab the full metal one just out of pure nostalgia then use the guts of it to repair the HK when it gives up the ghost. Any idea how interchangeable the internals are?
Aha a fellow comrade of an ex PT99AFS owner $700 new when Beretta was up near 2k. Good bang for buck. The safety decocker was way better on the frame than the Retta.
That’s a bummer regarding the non-interchangeability of parts. Is 3d printing of worn out plastic components an option or would they not have the strength?
Yeah they certainly are value for money, even if you get one as nothing more than a replica. I walked past a tobacconist the other day and in the window they had one of those shitty old m92’s made out of cast iron with a crappy paint job and they were asking $450 for it lol.
When my HK flogs out on me completely I might have a crack at sanding back the slide to give it a satin stainless look and throw on a 3d printed barrel weight, barrel extension and adjustable rear sight, then Hey presto!
Nah, just me I’m afraid. Over the years I owned two Beretta’s along with the Taurus and I really couldn’t shoot any of them for shit, I just really loved the way they looked. All my serious target work was done with a revolver.
Yea it’s just practice, we used to go on the rifle range and somebody brought some bowling pins from a closed down alley. Right the challenge is. It was good fun
Ha. Back in my early days we used to set up old ex alley bowling pins in their proper formation on a steel table and play the game to rule with strikes and spares. That’s when the serious hardware used to come out…
So I noticed the barrel was a little loose on my HK and upon further inspection it turns out to be a two-piece barrel to incorporate what appears to be a hop-up. Now there was no mention of that in any of the reviews I saw.
With the front half of the barrel removed the sights are bang on at around 7m and it will knock down empty beer cans consistently at that range so I’m pretty happy with that.
