I get it though… if you love a platform, you love it. I’ve got three Scorpion EVO 3s, just because I really dig 'em. 
That would be a very cool project. Quite a challenging one too I’d imagine, the grips especially.
Have to be my favourite 1911 maker been around as far as I can remember, they are just so much nicer than your average Colt. Nicer, lighter trigger, tighter tolerances so not as rattly but then that can give more jams but the one I shot ran fine. I just like the finish for the most part, and custom looks they do them in.
Oh and you pay for it too
Tried the grips at xforce today…sure enough the standard 1911 ones are too long for the kimber…
Got some for my ww2 commander. It has boring brown plastic chequered fitted standard.
After a coat of wood oil…
I think the US ones are the go, just another coat of oil to darken them.
The others are a bit too dark.
