Dropped into Xforce today, and saw the new Kimber Compact.
Shiny box, Shiny toy…
This is a new model in , their previous silver one was “Painted Silver”.
This looks the goods, being lovely and shiny, it caught my magpie eye…
Nice details, brushed finish, good weight, average performance (no doubt)…
But for $114, its a steal for a display item.
Also has a mag extender , if you wanna extend the mag slightly.
Shows finger prints, but easily wiped off.
Go for it.!!

Silver slide, on the black frame looks good, and they sell real ones like that…

So how does it run ?
Around 160-180 fps.
Using old gels, sitting around for weeks.
The hardened gels were too large to feed, though they were sitting in water awhile, and have probably overswollen.
It fed xforce pinky’s well , achieved the 180’s on those, they didn’t crush feeding.
I really like the brushed chrome, Sooo much better than the painted silver plastic, daylight sun pics 2morrow…
Some custom wood grips would finish it off nicely, may go to xforce soon…

I originally had a black Kimber, and bought the new chrome one.
The black one, had a black barrel and slide, the chrome had a chrome barrel and slide.
To make the parts swapping correct, as per the real photos above, (black slide, chrome inner barrel…chrome slide, chrome inner barrel)…
I bought one more chrome one, to swap all the parts around correctly.
And, end up with a all chrome model, with a black barrel.
I know, OCD much…?
Confused…???

The grips xforce sell, are for standard 1911’s and are too big for these.
So, standard grips it is…

black slide on silver frame - like the real deal. Just need the fibre optic sights
Silver slide / silver barrel / black frame is a real one too…as per photos above.
Even the Silver slide / frame, with the black barrel, looks sharp…just a little bit different.
Its hard to pick a favourite, the Complete chrome looks neat as well…but the combo models do look more interesting.
Cheap way, to do a mix and match. I reckon Vas will sell a few…
My vote goes to the black frame/silver slide/silver barrel combo.
