That’s bloody awesome isn’t it
It would be a great benefit to the hobby if this was played on every television in every state in Australia to promote the benefits that Gelblasting has to offer.
Saw this today, assuming they think the blasters were being used to intimidate but all the comments on FB are about them clearly being toys.
Slow news day.
Sounds like they weren’t even brandished…just in possession of deadbeats.
I wonder, do crims have conditions of not being allowed to own , otherwise legal items.?
Not that they’d follow those rules anyway…
Maybe something like felony laws in the US, not being allowed to be in possession of firearms if a convicted felon, sorta thing.
Would kinda make sense in that regard.
Cops list em as bb guns so catagory H and that means a licence so i doubt they are bb guns at all but of course facebook doesnt read that part.
But that pistol and rifles are spring powered? i wonder if thats how they charge gel blasters as bb guns under the stop and think laws.
The second lot i can see because of the compressed gas part of those pistols so thats catagory A for air guns.
Yeah those rifles are definitely springers, that pistol is an AEG thou, one of the early SKD hopper fed blasters.
To my knowledge gel blasters weren’t categorized with BB guns cause it’s not firing a solid projectile which was how they got around it in the first place. I wasn’t part of the hobby when they first arrived thou, just an educated guess.
To my understanding airsoft wasn’t allowed because they shot a solid projectile.
Don’t know enough about air rifle definitions to have an opinion on that but I imagine it had to do with pressures and what it’s shooting too.
Look on the positive side - it’s not an article naming gel blasters. No negative press to start a beat up. Pity the dim wits complaining that they are only gel blaster toys didn’t realise they are creating a ammunition for a press attack on blasters
Yeah it’s almost as if they’re less of a concern than saying… machetes ATM…
Definitely look like gel blasters to me…
So QLD can choose to put them in the BB gun category now?
Makes you wonder, if they hadn’t found the blades and illicit substances, would there have been charges based on the blasters or were they beefed up to strengthen the case?
Just another opportunity for the Authorities and the Media to publish “scary” looking images that the average Karen wouldn’t even know are only kids toys pictured and not real Firearms.
