The twin steer I drive atm was brand new in February, Mitsubishi but is actually a Mercedes rebadged.
Auto road ranger is lazy but I hate it way more often than I like it, the manual shift mode can work but it is fussy… and the auto shift makes some of the dumbest decisions at time that really are not ideal!
Older rigs are a joy to drive if you can drive them by comparison.
Just popped in to say I have nearly finished the video on this
I still can’t wrap my head around “automatic” trucks no matter how hard I have the conversations with my Truck Driver mates.
Having a computer deciding whatever gear is required to operate a heavily laden Vehicle with an Automatic Gearbox that separates the Driver from the road conditions is absolutely beyond me!
I concour and why I hate the fuckers and why I see weetbix OS drivers crashing in very fucking important unique to SA scenarios with them. Two words, the Heysen tunnels. I know how to go up and down it.
So do others apparently they’ve just got to have their brakes on fire and hit 140klm/hr and smash through cars, kill people, walls, the fucking fountain, nah avoid the run off as the fuckers can’t afford the 30k bill to get out of it. Just kill people instead, much cheaper. Fuckwits. How they get a licence I know and know how, unregulated fuckwit I know of, sate gov lets it slide. 4 corners shit.
Sorry, didn’t have the heart to AI modify Roxanna @BME !
But here is my take on the CYMA M4.
I haven’t had to pull one apart, so haven’t done it yet…
Had the flu all week, and need to clear this long thing off my workbench, but still have loads of catching up to do from a week of only work and bare essentials being done.
One the mend now, and back to work to get things done!
Beemer’s around here with his CYMA M4, disabled blowback and reassembled with a bigger spring. The lower receiver’s assembled but with a battery in we’re getting one beep initially, then three. After about 5 seconds it just puts out a constant tone and there’s no function at the trigger.
@BME Thanks for the detail review bro!! I remember you have a post that you need the motors / mags for the stem, could you quote me? I contacted the factory already.
To MOSFET or not to MOSFET… not even a question… for me, anyway.
Comparing Beemer’s M4 to my CYMA M4 and, metal gears aside, personally and I’m just speaking for myself here… I wouldn’t bother based on just the FET alone.
I wanted one… but I don’t need one is what it comes down to for me. Then again, I am a bit of a dinosaur.
Just my opinion but there’s something simple and reassuring about whacking in a lipo and flicking a selector switch to pew… no R2D2 beeps and disco lights coming out of the trigger slot, just solid performance equal to the latest offerings.
Sorry @Friendly_Fire and @BME I was busy sorting out a ZB26 and hadn’t been near a phone or computer since before your posts.
I will investigate, and don’t worry Beemer! You WILL get a well working M4!
I always win with a blaster! Even if it costs me sanity and sleep, I ALWAYS win!
Should have the MP5 gearbox re-wired tomorrow, and will work on getting the ZB.26 back to BME, and taking the M4 to my hospital for urgent care.
Mosfets can solve, and introduce problems. They do have cool functions and can really squeeze that bit extra out of a blaster, but they are not needed. I am going to say about half of my aegs don’t have ETUs. I like them, but they aren’t for everyone and every blaster.
Absolutely. Outdoors blasters, a simple good quality trigger switch while reliably last full auto bursts a very long time, even with higher fps and rps.
Where an ETU shines is indoors semi-only venues. The trigger set up to be sensitive and short travel, a little pre-cocking and it really will top off a nice build, helping it be snappier and more responsive.
But my recommendation to people who don’t have the money or heart to go all in on a blaster is that doing the work and changing motors, gears, springs etc is going to be far more reliable and effective. Most builds I have done with an ETU have been everything else was done, then the ETU gets added last.
There is argument that you need a mosfet for reliable semi… and to those I just say you haven’t built it right! My 36rps CYMA has no electronics, and has one of the best feeling semi autos, just has the long trigger pull and reset of a classic trigger switch. It is gorgeous.
If fire modes are your thing, or topping off a semi only build for that little more responsiveness, then go for an ETU.
I do like the auto mag prime though, and bursts are great for making mags last a little longer. Low battery warnings are nice too but you should be more on to that than waiting for a chip to tell you!
@BME the shearers had Roxanne blasting away there today and I started giggling to myself, even the boss lady said what are you giggling at. I said if I told you would not believe me, just reminded me of something. bastard
I don’t mind a mosfet etu or whatever for the extra functionality that Rok describes, but not all my blasters have them.
I’ve still yet to play around with the T238 in my LH Aug. The 2nd fet hamish mod I did still goes strong.
Couple of Peruns, the rest is contact standard and don’t seem to have any troubles. Likely because I don’t chase turning a gel ball into a bit of plasma
I want to have a go at something bit higher in the RPS realm though one of these days for fun.
“Once you depart from a state of innocence…you can never return to it again…”
Roxanne will never be the same again…!!
And, its a 2way street…every time you hear “Mosfet”…you know where your mind will go…
And everytime you hear “Roxanne”…well, its already happening…!! Your Welcome…!!
I’m hoping the issue can be solved…it was pulled apart gently and barely touched. I’m sure its just some reset / specific knowledge workaround…
I don’t think i’d use binary very often…it feels very rough on the gearbox.
3 Rnd burst is cool though.
And , a mosfet ( Mossfetttt) for a budget blaster is something different
