MP5 Fire Select Lever

Every MP5 I’ve ever owned with metal fire select levers, regardless of brand i.e. LDT, CYMA, suffers from the same problem… ironically the plastic versions don’t.

The levers always form the widest part of the MP5 so every time it gets put down on a hard surface on it’s side it chips paint off… both sides, being ambi. First world problem, I know… but it does my friggin’ head in.

I’ve got a few ideas to rectify this before I repaint but I figure it’s worth running through the forum brains trust to see if anyone has a solution they’ve found works well. :person_shrugging:

Try an epoxy paint :man_shrugging: VHT do spray cans of it.

Yeah, I’ve painted them before with Galmet epoxy primer and top coat… still chipped off.

But I’ll give the VHT epoxy a go… Autobarn here I come.

Anodize it. That’ll give you something to work out :joy:

I gave up and added some weathering to the rest of the blaster

I’m thinking a shaped thin rubber pad bonded to the thin end of the lever. :person_shrugging:

Should be practically invisible.

You’ve probably heard of a firearm coating called Cerakoat, that’s hailed as the hardiest firearm “paint” but even that eventually chips and scratches.

Point being I think we’d find it hard to find anything off the shelf that wouldn’t chip eventually.

Wonder if 3D printing one in black would work

Squiddy’s ink.?.?!

Where is the bugger… haven’t seen him for awhile…!!
