Just purchased two XYL APC9K (mosfet) and two SJ HK416C blasters for the kiddos and friends to use.
Can I get some help making a shopping list of necessities and optional upgrades? I do want to lengthen the barrels for the two xyl blasters, to give them a bit more fps. Also will upgrade the spring as well.
Also good gels for these blasters would be helpful.
US based, so I’ll have to wait a while for shipping of the extras although it’s kinda cold out to play for the next month anyhow.
I’ll have to be the one to give you the bad news… here in Austtralia, giving advice on modifying and upgrading gel blasters and posting info on how to do it is now illegal under the new gun laws. Sad and ridiculous it may seem to you in the US, but there it is.
A lot of established blaster techs over here have now lost their livelihood because of it.
I suspect you’re going to see that aspect of the forum drying up, along with the availability of parts, at least until the dust settles and we fully know where we stand. Retailers can still sell existing stock but can’t order future stock due to import bans. So giving advice is particularly risky on an open forum with visibilty and traceability.
I’d suggest a forum search of the APC9K thread posted prior to the introduction of the new laws… that’ll still be up there to see… for now. Maybe someone might like to play crashtest dummy and help you out.
It’s been coming for a while. The new “Hate” laws were pushed through parliament in response to a recent mass shooting incident at Bondi Beach and the government in their wisdom (!) lumped ammended gun control laws in with them.
Here in Oz, Queensland and South Australia are the only states that allow gel blasters, and S.A. treats them like regular real steel weapons requiring registration with the police, licencing, etc.
Queensland, for now, rightly views them as toys and aside from an age condition on purchase (18+) and storage regs we’re free to have and use them out of view of the general public.
The states where they are banned have been putting pressure on Queensland to get on board, Queensland has generally flipped them the bird and kept them as toys. We’re waiting on the state government to let us know of changes, if any, to the laws here in Queensland. Hopefully there won’t be any.
The federal import ban though means we have what we have, we won’t be getting any more.
Yea it is, I don’t know who voted for this gov because I sure did not. I know who I am voting for next but can’t say or I’ll likely get thrown in jail haha might as well just go in jail, get free shit food.
AKGB might see where I tagged her here and might be able to help you out if she has time. She is very good like that, but very busy at the moment with changes here down under.
Oh man what a joke, I think I should delete my whole history for some of the shit I’ve said but that’ll probly take a month haha f it see if I care. I’m harmless and if they can’t see that then they have it very wrong.
