After probably 6 or so shots (dry firing) I dropped the mag out and pulled the trigger to reset the hammer.
Next time I put the mag back in and tried to rack the slide, nothing. Slide won’t budge.
Trigger is in the up position (as in pic) - won’t budge.
Beavertail safety is movable, but holding it in doesn’t change anything.
Now I’d say something has probably broken and is jamming everything solid. So, can you disassemble the grip with that slide still on?
Also, the reason i was testing the mag valve was that I was trying to work out how to adjust one of these 9-Ball ones (red one on the left)
You can adjust it easily as it sits there, but put it in the mag, and it doesn’t move.
When they advertise as being easily adjustable, I thought you could do it while it was in the mag. If you have to remove the mag lip and gasket everytime you want to adjust it, that’s not “easily adjustable” to me.
Any of you have any experience with these?
Can i ask have u ever take n it apart before? do i know if the recoil spring guide is one of those two piece screwy ones? if so u can unscrew half n should allow some movement.
theres not much u could do by taking the grip off and i doubt the spring in it would be seizing it but you could always try, might also get a better look at what could be seizing it tooo
I had a GE HiCapa given to me with a similar issue.
I’m sure you already know but under the grip there are about three levers that link to the internals and are held under spring tension. Loose at the top and move out of position if the gtip’s off. If they aren’t aligned and positioned correctly on reassembly they will lock things up. I’d be checking that on yours first up.
But then again, I’m no GBB expert… better people in here for that.
On mine I just removed the grip screws, removed the grip, lubed everything and reassembled making sure those levers were where they should be. Worked fine after that and I’ve still got it.
Apologies for the late reply, I’m not often on here at night.
I found the problem, but first I’ll answer your suggestions/questions.
@AitkenTheAcorn yes, I have taken them apart before, but I am certainly no expert. It was nothing to do with the recoil spring or guide.

That’s what I was trying to do, get a look at what was locking the hammer. But without removing the slide, you can’t access the small screw under it that holds the frame to the grip. So I was asking if you can disassemble the grip with the slide on. Short answer - NO (well not fully anyway).
@Wombat The outer barrel was still moving freely. I should have mentioned that in the original post.
@Friendly_Fire “On mine I just removed the grip screws, removed the grip, lubed everything and reassembled making sure those levers were where they should be.”
That was my problem, I couldn’t remove the grip because I couldn’t remove the slide. And the sear spring was still in it’s correct position.
So, I removed the hammer spring housing from the grip, then the sear spring, so I could see the bottoms of the sear and disconnector. Used a small flat blade screwdriver to move them backwards and forth until the hammer finally unlocked. After that the slide came off and I could disassemble the frame. The problem - small nub broken off the hammer, which locked it in the up position, which in turn locked the slide. This pic isn’t of mine, just to show what I am talking about -
No first hand experience but i watched a few videos a while ago and as far as I can remember, you do have to adjust it as you described then tighten it with a key to lock it in place. I imagine this would be a bit tedious if you were trying to get it to a very specific pressure.
I think if you were running multiple magazines you would need to use some sort of a spacer when setting each one to ensure uniformity or your fps and accuracy would be all over the place from clip to clip.
I’ve actually been trying to get hold of one of those for a while now. Where did you pick it up?
As for adjusting, yeah I have seen a couple of videos and they show adjusting it to where you want it, then tightening. But this is done with the gasket/gas route not in the mag. Which means punching out the pin and taking out the mag lips every time you want to change it. I did try loosening the valve until I could turn the adjuster, then putting a thin rod down through the gasket while it was in place, but you don’t have much of a sight window to tell you where exactly the cut-out in the valve is positioned.
