Just switch to smooth bore barrels mate, then can upgrade to depleted Uranium Sabot rounds instead!
They should red mist a few roos and foxes :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

i bought 10 boxes of these many years ago and still my go to round. My older ones have red tips though.

I got some of the old silvertip with the aluminum tip. They are explosive :boom:

I’ve had great success with all I’ve tried with polymer tip :+1:

Lol … aluminum tip? Dont recall those.

Photo of the box would be nice if/when you next access … love looking up old rounds.

My favourite back in the day. $6.50 for 20rnds essentially match grade ex mil ammo.

That took some finding, turns it’s the last one I have left, oops. They were great, accurate. Quite popular but I think they didn’t penetrate much. They made quite the wound on light skinned game though far out. Had a quick search turns out it’s a aluminum cup over a lead core.

I too like old rounds, got a bit of a collection of different stuff. :+1:

Dad used to run those in his Swedes. Cheap back in the 90’s along with the surplus M96 swedes. :+1: :+1: He paid $50 for one and $70 for another. 29" barrels LOL. Unfired in wrap out of storage. Nice action and very accurate.

Looks like a silver bullet…
What roams, on your lands…?

The undead… :vampire::laughing: :+1:

If I was closer to the safe I’d pull out the box of 1952 manufacture .303

nice! Can you hunt for meat with aluminum tips? That shit ignites into dust at high velocity - not as ductile as copper etc.

Very cool example though!

I have no idea, never thought of it. Might even be vaporized by the time it gets to target :person_shrugging:

Those Speer 130gn HP’s punch well above their weight, and I’ve never found a rifle that doesn’t shoot them well.

I may, or may not have close to a thousand in the house…

Oh right that’s good to hear. They are fantastic for what I do. I may or may not have similar numbers  Buy em cheap, stack em deep. Only go up anyway.

12ga was my TP. 500 or so of these still im working through.

I miss the days of 1600rnd cases of Norinco .223 for $300. 55grn FMJ but worked a treat on Goats. Think the jacket was fairly thin, one shot in the heart/lung would drop them. Might not have some left in wooden boxes :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Even the days of the federal American eagle .223 at $16 per box is a distant dream. Shot hundreds of, er, large rabbits with those

Oh yea those large rabbits were a problem around here this year. Easily get 20 every time I tried. Make a mess of the crop and fences. They met mr Speer

Seen it all now, eat your heart out Arnie
