Seems like it would be a riot for a weird build in a milsim game. Dress up as a war reporter, and ask the enemy to gather up for a well composed “shot”
yes, smile then “boom”
How much did it set you back?
For the Camera Grenade Launcher, cost me US$130 not including freight charges and it don’t come with a grenade. But it is useless to have a airsoft grenade. It is so cool, it worth the money .
Picked up a little scorpion, because i like the cool and unusual stuff…
expectations weren’t high at this price point, but it is reasonable for what you get.
Solid nylon build, the stock retracts and extends well, and locks solidly into either position, with no wobble. Metal barrel, and no battery included. Battery fits into the pistol grip, and space is tight.
Performance is as expected, around 170-180 fps using older gels. ROF around the 700 rpm mark.
The stick mag is tiny, only a few seconds until empty. The drum obviously lasts longer.
The low fps makes for low spread, so accuracy is quite consistent.
I was a bit taken back by how small it is, comparo shot with a glock 19, i thought it would have been larger…
At times, it feels a little uncomfortable in the hand, due to the design of the pistol grip having a raised ridge.
All in all though, something different, with performance you’d expect at this price point…
…Those look like LDT MP5 magazines. Don’t suppose you have one lying around to try?
No, they are waaaay smaller…the stick mag is literally the length of a closed fist…
I’ll try one 2morrow, when im back home, to se if it fits…
Another piece the collector in me wants, and nice to see your thoughts on it.
Had a look at the mags, they are indeed the same depth / width as the mp5 s……but wired differently.
Ie feed tube is on the rear of the scorpion, feed tube at the front of the mp5 s….different positioning of terminals as well, arranged longtitudely on the scorpion, horizontally on the mp5 s…. Can’t have cross compatibility now, can we….
Picked up one of the Classic Army XM177s finally, almost instant buyers remorse.
Pros:
- Correct receiver
- Looks pretty well spot on overall
- Good performance OOTB (when it works)
Cons:
- Feeds like garbage, regardless of gel size
- Ugly plastic proprietary mags that don’t fit in the lower very well
- No mag prime, bolt hold open doesn’t engage unless pulled to nearly breaking point
- Gas block wobbly out of the box, push pins do nothing
- Took reciever apart once, rear captive pin now refuses to go all the way back in
Very, very disappointed. Tempted to swap everything out of my spare CYMA M16 into this so I have something that looks the goods but is actually reliable.
Certainly looks the goods, couple flaws but hey, what blaster doesn’t have a few things to fix out of the box
I reckon if you take the buffer tube and grip off you could put the pin in, seen a few blasters that have this issue.
Is it a well pattern mag? The only classic army I have worked on was basically a wells with a few frills added.
Nice to see the colour of the receiver’s not just black… looks awesome.
I’d do the swap with the M16… I built an XM177/CAR15 from a CYMA M16A1 but couldn’t get the correct delta ring and handguard so had to compromise… and of course the receiver was black… all the same it was a pretty cool thing. It’s got a metal quadrail handguard on it now.
You’ve already got the hard to find bits right there… the right looks with quality internals? What’s not to like?
How does that even work?
I’m not a smart man, but that is seriously messing with my mind!
Finally found another one
Gave the first one away to the grandson because he pestered me for it.
You guessed it he dropped it overboard while fishing
What is it you ask it’s a thermos
You get two cup out of it
Extra bonus points for the dead bunny slippers…… very creative!
There the only rabbit’s your allowed in Queensland
Bought one of these today, just so I’ve got a Glock on the wall… KELe Glock 17 manual.
Not without it’s issues, even with a spring fed mag, and hardly a performer being manual… but a solid build and nice feel to it.
