Is that a 26? If so assuming its the plastic springer? I got one of those from Renegade a couple of years ago. Love it as a collectors piece and would jump at a gas one.

Nope… not plastic. That was the early manual G26, not very good.

This one’s a KELe, based on the a/soft springer, metal slide, metal everything including the spring fed mag.

The only thing nylon is the frame. :+1:

There is a GBB G26 available.

I’ve seen G26 framed GBBs but they all have long mags. Cant recall who made them. Thanks for the KELe info. Will add to the wish list

This should have some spring upgrade potential?

are they reliable? not that i can buy one.

Very reliable… one rack, one gel everytime. :+1:

No doubt you could upgrade the spring and the internals would handle it… you’d have to find a stronger spring in the same diameter, but could easily be done.

am jelly even of a decent springer. haha

Got a piano, gon a make pretty sounds

I have since made pretty sounds, very happy with thr piano, more determined to get a synth now too

This is so much easier to start playin then the guitar and hopefully will get me to start making things by chain reaction of im bored, bam bam bam~

that’ll work

Always wanted a SCAR MK17 DMR

Not a great performer, but loving the form… just needs a bipod.

Might get around to a gearbox swap one day, but the mag terminal position and ambi fire select might make that tricky… in the meantime it can stay as it is… shitty BF gearbox but looking tacticool.

Yesterday I scored an xyl arp9 cheap. Needs trigger unit and a few screws, but was right price and pretty new.
Tbh they all need a trigger unit imo though so that was just extra bargaining power!

Cool little blaster that I don’t get why people rave about them, they are good, but need a mosfet to be great, and even then the nylon gearbox while good for nylon it’s got a few proprietary parts like cylinder head and nozzle. Also the outer barrel handguard and upper have some movement so they aren’t solid, but solid enough.

I get the attraction of the real steel, cheaper ammo in Glock mags and AR platform manual of arms, but in gel world to me it’s just a short m4 with a awkwardly long mag that holds less balls than an m4 mag. But I have too many m4s and wanted something different, this came up and I took it!

I have upgrade nozzle, piston and head, 12:1 gears and a t238 motor, haven’t decided on spring but it will be loosing four teeth, with the goal of around 300fps and 30 rps, but most of all that snappy semi. Probably just run a t238 optical as I’ve had good experiences with them.

Going to keep it as bog stock looking as possible, sleeper style. Though I am ordering a metal top rail, silver fake bolt that I will adapt to the charging handle, a foregrip and a drum.

i mean a knife would give you a sc…oh, not that type of scar.

:joy:

Got plenty of those too… collect 'em. :+1:

I do like a good blade, especially if it’s got an antler crown handle.

For some reason I assumed that you would have had one of these in your collection already, only because they were so popular and have been out for quite a few years now.

I had the XYL V3.5 and HLF models, also the similar sized WELL PDW9 and WELL M4 CQB for the larger mag capacity.

The XYL’s were definitely better build quality than the HLF, but they definitely both had their pros and cons for each, especially with the proprietary parts of the XYL making it a bit more complicated when modifying.

There’s been a big resurgence of these because of the expanding U.S./European markets, so hopefully the manufacturers will be making enough sales to make it viable for more aftermarket parts to be developed as well :+1:

I kept all of these different models box standard, but do remember having quite a few issues with the mag feeding for some reason that I never got around to sorting out.

Definitely worth getting a few extra mags and some double mag connectors if using in a game for the day.

Looking forward to a few pics/reviews of your mods if you can get time to post up here for us all to see :sunglasses:

There are several reasons I didn’t own one til now… Because the moment I seen them come out, I just decided “its a short m4 with an awkwardly long mag that holds less gels”. I already have that. Also buying mags for one blaster sort of annoys me. Since I have near 100 various mags already!
Also where I used to work, I got to see them at their worst… repairing them. It was always trying to get replacement mosfets. Which were thin on the ground. Thus… I have fitted Peruns, Leviathans, T238s… heaps of them. It is easy and being nylon box it is safe electrically.
And then, you might as well make it worth the expense and hassle… and they spend more. Seen so many spend $600 on parts, getting leviathans, nice motors gears etc, to make the mosfet upgrade worth it. Sure they are a wicked blaster, healthy fps and rps, reliable, but theyd wanna be! It costs them over $1000 for this! Nuts.

So why didn’t I have one… I can build a custom shorty m4 that does it all… cheaper, and it will be metal. And it uses the mags I already have loads of.

So when I get one at good price, in bits, ready for me to do all the things I’ve done to many before, yeah I will, they are different, and I don’t want any more M4s at this point. Kinda keen to get it running and singing, get a drum, and watch the wife try and break it lol

I sorta had the feeling that possibility your experience in the industry might have swayed you away from these, and thanks for the feedback!

The MOSFET issues and other things were why I just left mine box stock, as certainly didn’t need or have time for repairing/modifying my own stuff when so busy working on other peoples projects.

The WELL M4CQB would have probably been my first choice to modify as a decent sized CQB blaster with a decent mag cross compatibility and capacity…… but again, never got around to doing anything with it

Also already had plenty more little blasters like the MP5’s, MP5K’s, UMP45’s etc of various different stages of performance that were plenty enough for anything CQB related to choose from.

I ended up focusing on the UMP 45 as my favourite, mainly for the many reasons that you mentioned.
They were very solid/unbreakable, cheap and easy to upgrade to put out reliable high FPS/RPS, largest capacity mags out of all the other models and extremely easy to get parts being based on the old Gen8 internals.

No metal gearbox options, not that I would ever use a Gen8 cast gearbox anyway, the Singularly gearboxes could take a beating and everything being nylon was great for the electrical insulation properties :+1:

The XYL ARP9 always felt a bit flimsy and fragile in comparison, and like you said, would take quite a bit of time and money to build it up into something more durable/reliable.

I hear ya…

It’s the reason I go nuts for EVO 3s… put a decent Gen 8 in them and a paintjob and they’re solid little units. No frills, just work like the UMPs.

Build a drum mag for it and pew away.

I love my ump… 5+ years of thrashing and still an old reliable favourite. It’s been loaned to mates for the day out many times too. On its third red chihai, still the same singularity box and bevel gear since I built it over four years ago.
Sometimes simple is best. And has a delightful charm about it. I have enough spares that I don’t care if it breaks, I just have fun with it. My favourite kind of blaster tbh.
Everyone should have an old beater gen8 box blaster as a backup lol.
