will do this afternoon
I’m not going to buy it so someone else might as well…
They have a CYMA full metal V2 gearbox in the gearbox bin at Vipertac… just needs a piston spring & retainer and a cut off lever spring to be complete… no motor, obviously.
Bit of a bargain at $60.
“Lets Rock…!!”
30 mls…hmmm.
I wonder if they do discounts for larger volume…
How much would you need, for a couple of coats on the shell.??
If not, colour match off my sample elsewhere…
Also…
picked up these Co2 wells frame / slide at vipertac 2day…
Spare parts…
it looks weird with a 2tone slide…but kinda works…
I’ll most likely use the slide, for repainting black, and blacking out the white text that is currently on my black model.
It has sooo much text, it reads like the front page of the courier mail…!
Anyone know much about the GE GBBR?
Saw this and contemplating babies first GBBR
Thou I really shouldn’t after buying that SCAR
Get one, and tell us all about it…!!
They’ll probs do a better deal, if you stand in front of them and wave cash….
Now’s the time to do it…!
Mmm , don’t sound so convincing
. Considering even iHobby only come down to just below $700
Time to step up a rung and get in to airbrushing @BME I’d think 30ml wouldn’t go too far. One way to find out. Depends how many coats to get the desired result.
Well you usually water it down with stuff for airbrushing with and it does go a long way cause it’s such a thin coat too.
Brown Bess slide, on a M92 frame?
One way to see what it looks like…!!
Black/brown….just nahh…!!
I got an airbrush kit been looking for a reason to bust it out.
@Maiphut Yeah, 30ml wouldn’t go far… and the colour’s going to be very dependant on whether it’s airbrushed over the base green or a lighter undercoat.
Have to try to source it in a larger quantity.
i might get a trial bottle, for a sample.
paint it on some leftovers, and see what it looks like.
Compare that, to my brown bess HCG.
Doesn’t need to be 100%…as long as its “brown bess-ish”.
If not, we can colour match a sample, from the HCG, for larger quantities…
What would be the best type of paint, for long lasting handling.?
Lacquer based, i assume…??
And, what about incorporating some mild weathering.?
Silver underneath, and expose, or rub’n’buff after.?
One question…
Just
Why…?
Just Why…??!
Bleerrkk!
I’ve never got into much beyond painting model colours what I want. Might be worth searching some model forums for weathering, train ones get big into weathering. Might find some useful info. Utoob even just looked at a couple there might give some info you’re after.
Oh well millions of soldiers have that colour pistol strapped to their hip worldwide including the ADF. Someone likes it.
Think that colours called “dark earth”? I don’t mind it.
FN Herstal use it as the lower receiver colour on the SCARs.
Yeah, Dark Earth is the modern nomenclature for these colour patterns, and my dumbarse still thinks that this is somehow linked to modern computer games or something similar?
Certainly doesn’t make any sense to me why a manufacturer would produce these weird colour combinations, especially when we are used to just simple black/tan or old OWEN Jungle Camouflage that actually makes perfect sense?
Just imagine holding up a convenience store with a tiny pistol. I would laugh at you and tell you to fuck off.
