in my case it was the boarding students getting a bit to “creative” with the D&T equipment. it wasn’t good lets put it that way… what made it even worse was they were all in my year group, so i knew the perps by name.
I was a day student so I wasn’t privy to all the shenanigans…thankfully.

M79 is not bad, for the $60 i paid for it…
The fake wood is pretty good, the barrel is a bit long, but whatever…
I’ll see if i can remove the white lettering easily, if not repaint time…
The standard black is not too bad though…

No…no B709 reqd.
It did land in brissy, so perhaps more sensible eyes scanned the dart gun…
Interestingly enough…it also fits the 40mm gas shells, from the MGL…
The firing mechanism would have to be modified, though…currently it has a plunger only, and no protruding firing pin.
Also , the current spring is very strong and stiff… I doubt the shells would like to be hit so hard…

Ok, a quick paint job later…
Its actually come up quite well…
For a $50 cheapy, its a surprising little sleeper…
As i said, the fake wood is quite good…i’d go so far to say better than the xforce thommies…
Its only a dart launcher with 3 shells, but it could be modified to fire the MGL 40mm gel grenades…
Just fit a protruding firing pin, and put in a weaker spring, so it doesn’t smack so hard…
I didn’t muck around, too much with the paint.
For the text, i just taped around the area, and gave it a quick flash of matte rustoleum…
When it dries properly, i’ll go around the borders with a teeny dab amount of thinners, to smudge the border and make it a smoother transition.
You can only see if you look closely.
I just wish i could shorten the barrel a bit, easily…

As for my most recent purchase: bunch of cigars. going to a proper cigar place for some nicely taken care of ones soon instead of where i did (tobaconest/cigar shop and only went back because of the vape ban and apprently i dont meet a doc’s requirments for a script).

Next purchase will be some gel blaster just waiting to get the cash up first so i dont instandly drain my bank account on it.
I could cut the barrel down, but if you want to retain the front sight, you need the front part of the barrel.
Its got some grooves right at the front, for the clamp to fit into and hold on.
trying to cut, match, and join 2 different pieces of plastic barrel would be… challenging.
I suppose i could cut the barrel down, cut off the front sight, get another metal clamp to fit, and glue the sight on that.
I’ll have a look at bunnings, for clamps.
Dammit, its too late for sausage time…
I don’t smoke, so not a connoisseur of cigars.!

Fair enough about the barral and front sight weirdness, yea gluing 2 bits is a pain had to do it with some 3d prints and you can see where i didnt line it up just right and had to remelt the seem into place again.
I might just convince myself…

Y’know, you could probably order a a/soft M79 into Oz…
On the grounds that, there is nothing airsoft about it, it just fires a 40mm gel cartridge, which you already have in Aust…
Taidi brought some in before ( $800) , and i doubt they had to do anything to them…
Given all it needs to fire a gas 40 mm gel grenade, is a working “push pin”…
I doubt anything needed to be done.
A/soft grenade, vs gel grenade would be the only difference.
Find a place that ships to Aust, remove all A/soft packaging, B709 and declare it a “gelsoft M79”.
Im sure thats all Taidi did…
