They sure do bark. Nice big muzzle flash even with the flash suppressor on it. But subs are the way to go. Went to subs when recovering from a broken shoulder and kept shooting them they were so fun. I got the extra one as a parts gun as it had been tapped for a receiver and scope and they had damaged a part of the rear sight but it could still be used. Haven’t had the heart to parts her out so she stays as she was intended. Both mine have the cetme bits. I opened the compartment under the barrel and fould some very old tobacco. Not sure if it was from some Spanard who had been sent to Africa at one stage or left in there by a hunter in NZ. They are an interesting rifle.

Nice, iirc mine just had the pull through in the front end compartment.

Interesting with the subs, something I haven’t tried. I did put a slip on butt pad though. The steel one, as you know bruises. Being so light it would get a bit uncomfortable after a few.

Same here, my parts FR8 has a rubber butt pad. The steel one on my mint 8 can hurt abit with full power loads and as my bone crew back in a lump at the break site it used to sit right on that point and cause me to spill a few swear words a few hrs after getting home and the adrenaline/fun factor had worn off.

But great fun guns. Very different with a interesting history.

my Denix Mauser C96 with wooden stock

Good stuff Bart - and the best you can do, given we can’t get the WE Tech C96/M712 with stock etc. Again it’s a matter of mucking around with the AW Custom Han Solo blaster

yes, the same thing , Tactical Edge Hobbies didn’t capitalise their advantage on WE products. AW have the Han Solo Blaster that means WE M712 can be converted to gel blaster easily. WE =AW , AW Products are based on WE products. WE M712 have wooden (plastic) stock version like this.

Yes, I know Bart. AW is the ‘custom shop’ basically for WE Tech. I’m not into fantasy stuff and prefer the historical items, so the Star Wars stuff doesn’t interest me.

And yes, the WE Tech Lugers’ magazines are apparently too slim for gel, but the Mauser WE Tech 712/C96 magazines should certainly be wide enough for gels - they’re almost double-stack/hi-capa in width I would think.

There is a gel version of the C96… ive got one.

East coast custom blasters brought a few in.

It is the star wars kit…take the kit off, and you have a C-96 Mauser underneath.

the tip is shorter…but thats fixable…

Fair enough BME, but again back to square one as with the Luger. WAT had Han Solo’s DL-44 by AW Custom as well. I saw one there last year. Again paying a lot more for a fantasy piece, you then take the extra bits off, then fill holes and deal with shortened barrels etc.

Why not just the C96/712 direct as is, with mags wide enough for gels anyway. Ok shame it can’t happen with the P08, but the C96/712 …

Does your modified C96 work correctly?

i was happy enough to get the C-96.

The han solo jobby is pretty good…and remove it all for a C-96
2 for 1, for me…

yes, you gotta add to the barrel tip, but thats something I could live with.

Proper/original form would be better…but, if it hats all you can get…

And, yeah… it works properly.
Only holds about 6 or 7 gels, though…

Tactical Edge Hobbies is the sole dealer / agent for WE products here so if they don’t get it in we can’t have it no matter how much we want it. TEH lost the edge long time ago. I used to bought a lot of gel blasters from them ,but in the past 2 years almost nothing. I bought more stuff from X-force tactical, WAT and Cybertrigger.
By the way the Denix C96 is only $390 with the wooden stock .

TEH hasn’t been the same since Peter Clark left us. When the CEO makes the purchasing decisions you get innovation. When the accountants/employees make the decisions you get risk averse decisions that stick with what they already know - result is gradual decline. Used to love dropping by x-Force to see what he and Vaz were playing with

They also had the wonderful WE Tech quality Beretta M92 and Sig P226 back in the day as well … but decided not to continue with those models either …

Shame really, as they were more finely crafted than the DB equivalents.

Yeah, the DBs were a bit meh in quality, I’ll agree there. The DB Beretta mags in particular were horrendous , more leaks than Wiki.

Swapping out the mags for better WE mags was an upgrade, and tricking up the aesthetics with a rub back and repaint or a full polish made them better, but for all that work you were better off just buying the WE Tech version.

Shame WE took them off the production list. :person_shrugging:
