My missus is fine with my hobby… she knows how much therapeutic value I get out of the fettling process.
In fact, when I buy brand new she usually asks me why I didn’t buy broken secondhand, just so I’ve got something to do.
Beats binging Netflix. ![]()

Mine tolerates it, it’s not the money it’s the time
She did play a game a couple of months back and had an ok time so there’s hope yet
All in all my missus is cool with it. The sanity value I get out of it, and any time I spend working on them is time I am not spending looking to buy the next part or blaster… so tinkering is preferable for me!
Keeps me busy and off the streets ![]()
I dunno about that, it’s when you’re working on them you’re most likely to be, this needs a new “X, y and z” ![]()
although you’ve probably already got most of the stuff required on hand ![]()
Yeah that happens to me still, despite having all the parts on the website available to me and probably that many more in small quantities… and spares from a junk yard bin… I still get caught out often!
Picked up a spare JG Sig gearbox, t piece and motor from ausgel to have on hand to eventually look at repairing the Sig 551 that got fried,
JM m4a1 gen 8 t-piece and metal trigger to upgrade mine as I have another 27.5cm metal barrel on hand already, that will be some minor practice before the Sig repair
And a couple of other goodies to bring it over $80 for free shipping, I’m a sucker for free, just ask friendly ![]()
.
When I get around to the Sig 551 I’ll probably do a straight swap with the gearbox and tinker with the original to see what the issue is whether it’s the gearbox, motor or wiring, definitely need more practise before touching that tho, obviously inspecting and testing the wiring thoroughly before proceeding
But, gotta start somewhere ![]()
Also ordered some flux so I can start practising soldering, with a little help from Rok’s video I should be on my way in no time ![]()
sounds good.!
Little soldering tip, that works for me…
For flux application, i use the soldering pen, from jaycar.
rather than the tub of flux ( which leaks), the pen is easy to control, and administer.
Couple of light pressure runs, and done.
works for me.!
This stuff and a fine paint brush…
Paint it on the wire and whatever you’re soldering to, load up the iron tip with solder then hit the joint… when it stops bubbling the solder flows and you get a beautiful connection.
This is next generation Glock Blowback Housing, have wheels and don’t need springs and extremely smooth (doing some sanding to make it fit WE Glock)
New blaster is actually quite accutate but i think i might lengthen the barrel for better accuracy
gel blaster and accuracy is an oxymoron
You got that right… ![]()

Watch that…t.t.t.t.t.t trigger…of course…!!
yippie yippie yie, yippie yie oh…!!
Wow, haven’t heard that one in about 40 years …!
I was going to comment the same thing!
Brought back some good memories for sure.![]()
