On one hand I love a bargain…
On the other I wonder what is going on, kind of like ausgel/M4A1 are cleaning house? Be good if it was to fund some new shipments and stock but I am thinking it is more concerning than that. Hope not.
I was lucky that I picked up a spar gearbox last time cause I had a gear short stroke itself, was pretty finicky swapping them out but I was originally intending to use the spare as a guinea pig but will use the original for that now.
I made up and printed a little wedge for the mag terminals too cause it wasn’t making proper contact but haven’t been able to test in game yet.
That used to be how I did every blaster. Buy blaster and gearbox, upgrade and mod the spare then swap them. Was a great option especially with gen8 and V3 as when the time comes to drop it in it is a pretty quick process.
Aug is very easy to remove the gearbox, a couple screws a bit of a squeeze and it falls out the buttstock. Very handy. They can be a bit of a pain to check nozzle and tpiece seal though.
I’m debating if I should order a gearbox or just another aug. I wouldn’t mind setting my printer loose on it and make one as short as possible.
Strangely enough of the three models the A3 is my least favourite as it looks nothing like the traditional Austyer F88 or even the EF88. At $170 with three spare mags delivered I grabbed one and will modify it to my more milsim tastes. I am thinking of converting it to resemble the F88A2 with the carbine (short) length barrel - if I can find the parts.
one must print part is a cover piece that fills the gap under the rear end of the sight rail, cut myself pretty good last time I took it to a game cause those edges are sharp.

yeah I would’ve preferred the traditional aug like the Aus Army standard issues, but they aren’t $150 unfortunately

what’s the best gels to use in the JG Aug A3 in your opinion?
I can’t see recommendations on any of the vendors I’ve seen it advertised on

The F88 has been sold out for some time, I did see one at an M4A1 recently but still $499.
They always recommended Ausgel armourtech yellows. I think ideally they need something a little tougher though, due to the nozzle and tpiece design. The nozzle is metal, with no rubber on it. The rubber is in the tpiece.
I will be using Ultra Elite V2s, provided they are similar when the full shipment comes in as the early ones. Or something like the Predator V2 should go well as from memory they are a 7.3mm inner barrel, I’ll check that some point this week.
@DChapo That infill piece looks awesome! Will definitely have to do that. I can see that rail getting jabbed into me or getting caught on my rig.

I snagged a printed A3 rear piece to fill under the pic rail on my LH AUG… came with the A3 front end as well but that was so badly warped I had to bin it… unuseable.

Parts and accessories for the JG AUG seem to be an issue. Can’t seem to find an AUG folding foregrip or a short outer barrel anywhere. Do retailers not stock these parts or is my Google search engine broken?
Probably just another case of a proprietry blaster with a lack of available spare parts and upgrades. 
Plenty of short metal outer barrels available for the LeHui, probably not compatible with the JG. You might be able to fettle it to fit.
SixMM in Hong Kong have Steyr AUG foregrip replacements for $19… bought plenty of gear from them before, no import issues and highly recommend them.

Might save the bucks, for the Romulus pulse rifle instead…
X-Force have that plasma rifle coming too.
It’s got an IR mode too that uses some other target thing and an app.
Can use glow gels too.

agreed they need something a little tougher. just ran a couple of mags of armour tech yellows and they seemed to explode out of the barrel more than nice clean shots especially on full auto.
pity ultras elites V2 are sold out for the moment
