Sit.! Drop.! STEY(r).! Good (Bull)PUP..! Snow wolf Steyr AUG 020-T

Quick short mini review…

The pulse rifle has a good, solid gearbox, and im light on Steyrs, so i thought id give this a go…

Looks very funky…nice’n’short… has a sci-fi look about it…

Ok, so here we go…

Very nice little unit, shorter barrel than the standard AUG, but still a very good little performer, OOTB.

Xforce advertises 280 fps, im getting 315, using pinkies or ihobby blues.
The Whole thing is very solid, the mag inserts well and is tight.
No creaking, or looseness…

The only thing with a little bit of play is the front grip.
I’m talking a very small amount, a bit of araldite should make it Locked tight.

I like the feel of this, its made for shooting from the hip.
I’ll get a cheapy ebay laser, for side mounting.
Keep the clean look, from the top, and a side laser would be funky.

Lets talk about the magazine…

Ala pulse rifle, this is a spring loaded jobby.
It feeds really well, works at all angles and needs minimum priming.

The mag is smoky, but transparent…you can do a on the fly mag check, by seeing the position of the sprung feed ramp level…

I got a spare mag, and they bevelled both mags lips.
The T-piece has a elongated feed tube, and without the bevel, could crack the mag tops ( i think thats what fails).

Quite a pronounced feed tube…just do slow reloads, with minimal pressure, and you should be fine.

Good lookin’ bullpup there, Beemer!

I thought you’d like it…!!

It does have mag prime on it…not that much is needed.

The battery compartment , lends itself to a smaller battery.
Ive only used 7.4v, im sure it’d handle 11.1…but drain the mag fairly quickly.
7.4v is fine.

Ambi sided ejection port, just remove the dust cover on the side you want.

close up, of front details…

Safety / semi / auto…

Decent numbers, for 7.4v OOTB…!!

@RokSolid …you can have the arvo off…!!

But seriously, it is a funky little unit…
Looks very futuristic.
The mag, also helps stabilise your hand, when being held.

I like the compactness of it, it almost feels like a Adult SMG.
Designed for firing from the hip, a red laser on the RHS rail is all you need , without changing the aesthetic of the blaster…

Available in Olive or black…all good so far, and im happy with it…

Its quite quiet as well, same as the pulse rifle, so thats a bonus as well…!

A small laser would look good, RHS…
Wouldn’t change the aesthetics too much.

Good Steyr, thanks for the show.

I’d be getting rid of the front rail and foregrip. Looks ghey to me :joy: Looks like a pin so could put the standard grip back on perhaps.

Do love a good AUG, and the shorties do it for me
As @Maiphut says, I would be ditching the front grip and rail, and looking for a standard AUG foregrip. But thats just me.

Seconded and thirded on the foregrip ditching… it does look a bit naff.

As a guy who loves to chop shit up, at the very least I’d be lopping off whatever pic rail is hanging out in front of that vert grip on the same angle as the grip guard to neaten it up a little. :person_shrugging:

Yep - the foregrip suits the bull pup

I must admit… I kinda like the chunky front end…
Matches the thick rail, up top…

Feel free to post some photoshop mods…
Cutting down front Rear / angling front.

I don’t know how to drive photoshop, so….

All designs considered, pending final approval…!
:grinning::sunglasses:

Could possibly even look okay if you swap over the vert grip to one of these.

Those grips actually work and look alright on Augs.
Got one on mine.
Pic… On old phone that died dammit!

Ok…quick mock ups…

Front cut back , a bit…

OR… Front left protruding…but filled in with black material…

(not very well… i need like a black lego or something…)
But, you get the idea…

VERSUS Standard…

Paint worked photo…front blacked out better…

I actually like this one.

More solid looking…and not destroying the front guard.

Might look for some lego… or wooden block, and paint it black…

What shade…???

I’d move the vert grip back to the rear a bit and cut the pic rail on an angle to match the angle on the grip guard.

This angle…

But whatever floats your boat. :person_shrugging:

I’d hack the overhanging rail to match the rear too…

In 50 shades of red cut line

That would look cool, gotta say.

But I’m getting the feeling that the concensus is that the normal AUG profile looks better. Every suggestion puts it closer to a stock AUG.

So with that in mind @BME , maybe just leave it as it is. :person_shrugging:

It’s the difference between it and the normal AUG that attracted you to it, so run with what you’ve got. :+1:

I like the look of the A3 M1

Just for the nostalgia, one of these days I’ll get an A1… :sunglasses:

A decent FN L1A1, an M16A1 and a Steyr AUG-A1 would be a collection of every military rifle I’ve ever loosed a round out of at Pucka range. :+1:

Inaccurately, I might add.
