The Ghost of Xmas past...(OR... The SPECTRE of ABF...)

Ok, all the piecesof the puzzle have fallen into place, and all is revealed…

Bit of a story, but here goes…

1: Obtained B709, for importing a M4 Spectre, from triggertoys.

2: Placed order, got tracking number.

3: Parcel “A” arrived. It was an empty box.
There was masking tape on it, but enough of a gap down the side, to get the contents out.

Initially, i thought i was scammed.

However, closer inspection revealed it had a weight ex HK, of 1.3 kgs.
That would have been at time of posting. So, i started to think someone along the postal route, had sticky fingers…

4: I emailed triggertoys and told him. I have photo’s , and a video of opening.
He agreed to send out another one, as per his policy. He wasn’t happy either, but honoured his word ( Full Points for that!!). Package “B” sent.

5: B709 was still valid. Package arrived at SYD, and withheld. Letter sent to me. I lodged my appeal, stating I had a valid B709 ( they should have known this), lived in QLD where its all legal, have a B709 history of importing gel blasters / sci-fi replicas etc, and was a responsible (-ish!! ) person.

6: Package “B” finally arrived today, with stickers saying it had been opened by ABF. Blaster, mag and battery included.

Whew…!!

Thanks for @TriggerToy.com for sending the replacement, i was unsure initially about what had happened, but now i have no doubt someone in the postal system, somewhere, liked what they saw, and helped themselves.

Also, the appeals was successful, as it should be for a QLDlander, and package sent with no further problems. No further letters, your parcel just turns up.

Useful info, for anyone in a similar situation in the future.
Though, we need to get imports allowed from china again, for that to happen…

Hope thats of interest, for anyone concerned…!!

Anyway, the blaster itself…

Worth the effort.

Its short, sturdy, compact and cool…

Bonus points for including a 7.4v battery…its just a bit too long…

Its a very sturdy and solid blaster, no creak or movement.
No mag prime, it does have blowback ( to be disabled), and a semi / auto lever on the LHS. Mine only has one rail, on the RHS, but thats ok.

Magazine capacity is similar to mp5k, so dont expect it to last too long.
7.4v has it running around 700 r/min…standard 7.4v fare.
It is meant to have metal gearbox, metal gears, and a metal barrel.

Like the LDT mp5k, I’m only getting 160-180 fps out of it standard.

Curse of the short barrel.
It will get the spring / oring treatment, in due course…hopefully around 220 fps.

@TriggerToy.com , do you have any spare magazines available…?
There should be no problem getting them into Australia…

Ah, I see, Q… a Spectre, no less.

Almost as good as getting your hands on a Lector decoder.

Good to see you finally got one in. :+1:

Cool that is a one of a kind in Aus for sure. I was wondering how that is progressing. Good outcome eventually. It looks really awesome as it is. Love that unique lil smg.

It really stinks some dirt bag stole part of it. Unfortunately it happens and now likely an illegal part out there somewhere. Believe it or not I have had worse happen before. Some live ammunition went missing during transit from point A to point B in the past via courier. Don’t know where it went just vanished. It was reported and all channels followed as it’s quite serious.

I had a certain overseas company send me a pre release V4 P90 to review as I had quite the history of suppliers sending me stuff to review before they were released into the market.

This P90 arrived to me here in WA without ANY issues whatsoever from the ABF, and I’ve NEVER had a B709 in my entire life!:astonished:

Sure that it was dissasembled in the box, but to have the ABF open the package, inspect it, and then go to all the trouble to let me know that they had inspected the imported parcel, found nothing of concern, and then happily sent it on its way to Western Australia was absolutely mind blowing!

I obviously got rid of the barrel straight away and don’t have any gels to even operate it, and unfortunately don’t even know where all the rest of the parts are to assemble it as a Cool wall hanger :worried:

I received quite a few brand new pre production Gelbasters from overseas companies after the WA bans, only because they were just sent them to me by overseas companies unaware of the changes of the Laws here in WA.

Freaked me out every single time, because I never actually ordered/purchased anything, they just simply appeared on my doorstep unannounced, then shat myself that I had to get rid of those products ASAP😲
