Yes this is 100% the issue at the moment that AKgelblaster is trying to work around.
Small parcels and air freight are heavily scrutinized as of late last year. Much less than coming into Australia which is bizarre.
I have been told to be patient, as we hopefully will be able to order from Australia stock soon.
Got to remember airsoft is banned flat out in Australia nation wide. It is the retailer warning you as they are flagged by ABF and if you don’t jump through the hoops it will end up in the ABF trash can.
As Roksolid said there is a workaround to land something on Australian soil thanks to AKgelblaster so I’d stick your blaster money away and sit tight for now rather than loosing it to the ABF. Patience All good things come to those that wait.
yeah I’ve got my b709a under review currently for the gel version, but I definitely have no interest in trying to get the gbb a.s. in given the current legal status of them. I was just browsing the gbb versions to see what there was available on the market at the moment to see what they may end up converting down the line. checking the specs, fps etc but I think I only ended up finding the one brand for the gbb
They WILL NOT allow you to import airsoft, and convert it in AUST.
If you converted overseas, and applied for a b709, you would probaly get it in, as an existing gel blaster.
Thats the problem for private special imports, you have to have the legwork done OS… Unless you know someone OS who can and will do it… good luck.
Anything “converted” is subject to more scrutiny as well… they are worried about it being converted back…
I know its ridiculous…knife crime, illegal guns on the black market, a shooting at north lakes a couple of days ago…and they’re worried about toy blasters…
That’s right, and then you have each states varying laws to throw on top. It’s just because of the illegal amount of stuff that crims try to import.
We all know a toy is a toy, but when it gets regulated, then you have appearance laws because it scares a Karen because some clown has held up a fuel station with one. They will and have carpet ban them. Thus is the problem and because Australia is as big as the 48 states of America it is hard to police all that.
I’m dealing with a druggo next door, bit of police involved, main concern is the poor 10yo daughter that gets fed rice because he blows his welfare on drugs and alcohol. Sometimes goes to school when druggo Dad can get out of lala land then forgets to pick her up. School bus can not leave them at the drop off point have to take back to school, attempt contact with parent, and wait while in secure care of the school.
All because he’s a druggo and the gov hand’s out welfare yet he’s 8k in arrears for rent on a $100/wk rent house. Where’s the other $900 go when the child is eating friggin rice. I know where straight up his nose. Bastard.
I need a BME fire mission, blow this prick up please
Got some Americans hovering over Queensland doing a long haul in flight refuel for the B2 Spirits have been deployed. All of them. Diego Garcia. Uh oh…
Major movements in the last week. Guns are pointing. Bloody hell I hope this does not go hot.
In WA you can remove the gearbox, barrel and wiring from a gel blaster and it’s legal… just a replica.
Try to do exactly the same thing with an airsoft gun, which can often leave you with an identical shell to the gel blaster variant, and see how far you get.
The regs are so inconsistent. You can legally buy and own for example a Snow Wolf pulse rifle gel blaster in QLD & SA… you can strip all the internal hardware and legally have the shell in other states like WA because it’s viewed as a gelblaster item minus the gelblaster bits.
We know you can’t have a Snow Wolf PR airsoft gun, or any airsoft gun fir thst matter, but if it’s stripped down to the same shell as the gel version it’s still prohibited because it used to be an airsoft rifle… the same shell, still viewed as airsoft.
They’re judged prohibited or legal by what they used to be.
yeah I know, I did say I wasn’t attempting to import lol, just seeing what was available that may eventually be converted to gel and eventually end up in Australia in local retailers. I never mentioned importing them myself, in fact quite the opposite
I’d suggest not torturing yourself too much by looking at all the airsoft bling and hoping for conversions though.
There are so many airsoft platforms that I look at and think if only they’d give us a gel version of that one… but I’d say the chances are pretty slim at the moment.
Airsoft’s a huge worldwide market for the manufacturers over in China and while gelsoft seems to be gaining a bit of traction overseas it’s got a long way to go to catch up. Still, we can hope.
Would I be correct in guessing that Australia’s one of the largest gel blaster marketplaces compared to overseas? I mean, we jumped all over it at the start because it was the next best thing to airsoft.
Maybe @AKgelblaster could give us an idea on that being a global supplier.
I keep saying…one day, I’ll get a little holiday unit in NZ…
Then, it’s all about “a soft to gel conversion holidays”…
M134, RPG7, GBB tec9, Stirling msg, Bren…basically anything and everything…
All flights back, via brissy, so no Syd shenanigans…
Probably get to know the custom folks on a first name basis…
Mind you, I might just stay over there…
Drive in NZ , on a Aust license, and drive in Aust on a NZ license…!!
Never run out of points…!!
You wanna be careful with them Kiwis. Might pull a Hakka on you. I’ve worked with them, top fellas, work hard, but they overindulge in the alc and THC things.
They are Maroi, don’t fk with them they will kick your ass.
But hot damn are they good shearers. 1 lamb every minute Chop was pumping out, fk I was a little busy. Respect
Not even considered as a “Gelbaster” mate!
They’re simply a replica firearm, don’t matter what the origin.
Could be a Gelbaster/Airsoft or REAL Steel firearm…it don’t matter, as long as it’s a decommissioned/non functional item, it’s not illegal to have hanging on the wall.
Thanks for tagging. @shadow187 the situation is same for every small parcels shipping to Australia since the mid of last year. Anything that scanned in the HK airport detected with metal parts will be manual checked and returned with a reason of potential firearm parts or replica. It only happens to parcels shipping to Australia not to the other locations. Seems to me there are illegal import of airsoft from a few person that the whole community all of us affected.
Australia is very special because gel is legal in Queensland. For most locations where airsoft is not legal, full metal gel blasters are not allowed as well that’s why airsoft converted gel blasters almost only exist in Australia aside airsoft legal locations.
I believe it is a “density test” x-ray… my guess is it depends on the individual operating the machine on the day that determines whether it goes through or not.
My XYL APC9K was returned a few times failing the density test every time but it has thick nylon metal gears and parts, so hard to say what will happen.
If you don’t take the chance you definitely won’t get it though
That’s normal, I’ve got items as processed, it’s just the systems they use. Just means they might have packed it and got it in the delivery system electronically but not actually physically.
Auspost is in trouble too I read yesterday, oh dear.
