The first thing you need to know, is they are NOT Bi-Dart-ual…
I.e. every shell , fits ONLY its type…
Try to put a 1887 dart, up a SPAS,… it is a bit too small, slips out, and jams the feed mechanism up… MEDINCHINA prejudice.! ( or incompetence.?)
Lets talk shells, each has its own unique version…
Next, lets talk about ammo…
The SPAS shoots darts only, and does it well.
The red shells, cycle nicely.
The 1887 shells, are " hard to retain" , in their own, internal mag…
Anyone who knows the 1887, knows it has a internal mag/ spring…
lever it open , push the gate down, feed the shells, thumb up to allow the gate to rise…shells are now locked in…
easy to get that wrong, and shells start flying out backwards, with the action open…
The 870 LDT, is a bit harsh.
I have found, the best thing to do, to successfully cycle the action… is pull it back hard…dont screw around…
Lets talk, darts, and dots…
Blue dart, is the included SPAS dart.
The Orange dot, and the black dart, come from the LDT 870…
When you think about it, it makes sense…
If you have to push a dart back, the whole body of the dart provides (fps slowing ) friction, as it moves forward…
By reducing the total circumferential diameter, in contact with the inner barrel, you are reducing drag…
Which is why, these trick darts, fly a bit further / faster than standard ones…
Finally, lets talk about the " spinny flip" of the 1887.
I reckon, thats the sole reason, you’d buy one…
As quoted, the 1887 is a bit hard to feed…even with its own shells.
You lever it open, push them in, one at a time…and the still fly out backwards…
It took me awhile to figure out the flip reload…
Step 1) : break the action open
Step2) : finger placement…trigger finger out, pointing ahead, only fingers 2 and 3 , inside the lever… then…
Step3) :Upward, underhand bowling action…like your throwing it away… when your arm is fully extended, it will use the rotational momentum, to pivot, on the 2 fingers, and then close…
rotate to close to your body, and it will hit you… it needs a fully extended arm to rotate on…
Your correct to me all three are like a very high end nerf gun.
But nerf can’t build these as no parent is going to drop $200.
On a nerf gun.
Specially one that looks like the real thing.
nerf works buy
Build guns that look close to the real thing
Makes them in the cheapest plastic
And use the brightest colours possible.
Also the lowest fps so little Johnie doesn’t break mom’s vase playing with it.
That’s why there is a whole different industry that has sprung up which build what I call adult nerf like the company called WORKER .
You can also modify kids nerf to get decent fps at a fraction of the cost of gel Blasters equivalent.
It’s great that companies are coming out in the gel blaster segment which now make dart firing guns.
I for one would like to see more being converted from gels to dart.
It could open up a whole new market
I’d be interested in how printed shells would go in the none gel units.
It sounds like the dimensions of the holes in the LDT shells are off just enough that it doesn’t want to work right, wondering if the AKA shells would work in it .
