i spoke to QLD police again, regarding imports and b709’s.
A: Importing accesories …( scopes, grips etc).
As always, at the discretion of ABF on the day.
You can apply for a b709 beforehand…but that guarantees nothing.
Smaller stuff is at the discretion on ABF, on the day .
Qld police specified, they don’t know the internal policies of ABF.
They did say, however, at times they have seen seizure notices with the option of getting a B709 ( after seizure).
All being appropriate, QLD police will then issue a B709, and the item should then be released. As always, final discretion of ABF.
I did ask the question " is importing a gelsoft accessory ( grips / scope / etc) item without a b709 illegal.?", and was told No.
If your really concerned, get the B709 first…but ABF always has the final say.

B: Importing non-firing replicas.
Get a b709, and send link to the prop item with the application.
This is probably the easiest category, as the non - firing items are NOT gelblasters, and purely props.
I would imagine they should be quite safe.

They dont care if its resin or 3d printed.
They are concerned about 3D printed firearm parts, but, being a finished, painted , 3D printed prop produced overseas should be no issue.

$200 for a handguard that would cost me $5 to print, maybe $20 if I wanted to go all out with nylon.
They also go $30 for a main spring… Does it make every gel shot perfectly straight regardless of brand and size or something?
Guess they gotta recoup their money somehow after paying off the ABF or something.
They’ve always been overpriced on everything, imo, just because they get the tacticool stuff other stores don’t seem to care about.
On one hand I get it, things are gonna be tough and only the scrupulous will survive until imports are plausible… but that is nuts when most of that is easy to get through still, and I’ve had many reports of everything but blasters still being a non issue. Hell I got a load of parts today that I need to go through! Yay!
They do charge a proper premium for ldt stuff, which I can’t see why, it ain’t that expensive!

Re all seriousness the import thing regarding Beemers post and cheers for checking in as I am looking at importing a brand new dirt bike that does not retail in Australia so going through some fuggin hoops. Wasted days of research, it’s doable.
It’s going to be about the same money to buy another brand that is here in Australia all ready, not quite what I want but nearly enough think I’ve made my mind up. After paying GST, duties, oh don’t forget the Border Force because you don’t fill that out you get charged like a mofo per day while you get your paperwork together. I’ve had it before, fk em, I’ll go the lesser grade bike at a dealer and the OS dealer misses out as not dealership in Australia at all.

It’s not for the LDT models but still fits just fine. Printed with a rough (fuzzy) texture.
