I did see those. Back when I built mine there was only Hawkex nearly unobtanium and the import flatops which I ended up with.
I thought about redoing it with one of those, but I’d have to start from scratch again as everything is custom fitted. Lots of hours, decided against it for purely aesthetics gain. Plus I can change it to an A4 in a few minutes. Or an M4orgery with ease if I get bored.
I always had it in my head to build multiple M16 uppers… an XM177, M16A1, A3 that could be swapped over easily… kind of a modular approach. Swap out the buttstock for a buffer tube of course. So one lower and gearbox for multiple configs.
Maybe even a CYMA M4 upper as well so the one unit can be configured as M16 or M4.
I’ve done that with my JG M4/XM/M16 - only issue is my better fire control(?), the Leviathan is in my M16 so with the full buttstock, cant just swap uppers easily and look legit.
I see iHobby have a Double Bell AK range in nylon(?) now. The come with a plastic mag which i hope is improved on the original metal ones that broke within 5 minutes. Cant see any spare on iHobby though.
not close to any M16 variant, M16 A1 have triangle handguard no detachable carry handle, M16A2 have a round handguard no detachable carry handle , M16A3 is like A2 but with detachable carry handle, none of the variants have ambidextrous fire selector
Yeah, there’s definitely something freaky about the foreground pic compared with what looks like a standard M16 sitting behind it.
Can only be a Grenade Launcher looking at it from here.
I am very keen to see what WAT have, especially as someone currently hankering for a classic CAR15 or M4A1 to put my 203 on… and receiver kits parts always get me moist…
