WE Galaxy Hi Capa/1911

Got another pistol the other day. I happened to see Tactical Edge had a sale on WE Galaxies so I jumped on the deal.

I initially was looking at a WE Galaxy 4 to 5 months ago when I got into the Gel blaster sport/Hobby. Coming from a pistol competition background I was after something that was accurate and reliable enough to continuing pistol sport shooting with out having to jump thru the hoops and bow down to the almighty licensing God to get a firearms license over here in Qld (my new home and what a place to live, I am happy to be here).

I was put off buying one and purchased a AAP01 instead as most of the gel blaster reviews on the WE Galaxy pistols were negative or came with buyer beware warnings and it seemed legitimate criticism with the video reviews posted showing the issues etc. I was even told by a store who sold both the WE Galaxy and the AAP01 that the Galaxies were having poor reports and may not meet my expectations or requirements. Considering that they sold both pistols at a very similar price I felt it was an honest and open statement as he wasn’t gaining any money by steering me to the AAP over the Galaxy. A honest approach that I respect in a commercial operator.
So I see the sale that TE had and I grabbed 2 of the little Galaxies.

So I went to test the Galaxy not expecting much to be honest and to see what I could do to it to improve its form and function.
Well all I can say is that I’m not going to touch it in regards to accurising or reliability. This thing smacks straight on target! So far straight out of the box using AKA Ultra hards it has had no shredded balls, no jams and no swear words thrown at it. It has meet and far exceeded my expectations. Many 4 shot 1 inch groups today during testing.
To be fair I only shoot it at 7m for testing but that’s how I tested my AAP01 aswell and it has out shot the AAP out of the box at my test range.

My AAP01 shoots nearly similar groups now, but it has been accurisized with a 200mm after market barrel and some polishing and sharp plastic removal/sanding in gas flow areas and where gels come into contact with anything between the mag and the barrel.
Before accurising the AAP shot 3 ro 4 inch groups generally with 1 out of 5 groups being tight and acceptable to me but a gel would always wander off track and muck up most of the groups. (Wandering gels can be down to many things, debris from past shredded gels in barrel, inconsistent growth when being raised in cheap tap water, the inconsistentsies at the manufacturing end during processing, or just in general “I don’t give a #$&@ and will go and do my own thing” and not follow the rest of the group to the target).
But out of the box this Galaxy thing rocks! More testing to come with run and gun testing on a mini IPSC course of fire and with mag changes and varying distances not all set at the one distance as during testing so far was.

Also the Galaxy is heavier and has a actual pistol heft to it when picked up and pointing to the target and overall finish is very good. The magazine leading edge has the round openings down towards the bottom of the mag where you place the gels into for fast loading which the AAP mags didnt have. The Galaxy also seems to hit harder than the AAP out of the box before AAP was accurised.

I am a little nervous as to when the accuracy god will visit and take away the Galaxsies accuracy and reliability but until then I will shoot and have fun.

Here are some pics as a post can be boring with out pics (the relevant pics for the post too, not some shiela in a swim suit or my missus snoring).

Im a happy blaster of gels with this Galaxy!

Thanks all and, May your balls fly straight and true!

The different targets are due to testing different target forms to see which target can give me a shot placement
/hit marking, then be wiped clean etc for the next shooter competitor to use. A way of recording hits and not having to use a new target each time. I wasn’t happy with paper targets as they tore far to much and the next shooters hits would be harder to score. That’s the track I’m going down with all the different targets. Still testing at this stage.

I had to go check you didn’t steal my keys to my you know what  :+1:

Nice review! I nearly nabbed one too, but held off due to other expenses at the time.

From what I was told the WE Galaxies are decent, basically a WE hicapa in a space-like form. WE is fine if you don’t modify them in my experience.

Apparently they have a seer? that wears, but the tech I spoke to about them did say that he had done plenty of mods to it so again… enjoy them as they are and WE lasts well.

My WE glocks are still perfect with cosmetic wear only some 4 years on, so won’t complain.

Nah their back in their usual spot, I had to tidy the car though, don’t you recycle your beer cans. Oh and sorry for the little dent on the left rear panel to the left front bumper, I think it will buff out.

Yes, you are spot on. Im smiling. Just been to the dentist too and am missing a tooth and wont be buying another toy for a little while as the bugger took $980 off me just for inflicting pain.

But I’m happy with the purchase (the gel blaster not the B&D session with my dentist).

haha I sure do, I use 200kg wool packs for the empties.

What I just resprayed the door from the last time you bunged it up  :+1:

Join the club for tooth removal, I had a lil Italian older lady about half the size of me knees in my chest. Go own give er all she’s got scotty. She was good, yep that’s a gonner :joy:

Pretty insane that you are happy with a Gelblaster version of a Pistol!
Awesome post with great information for everyone else out here in this hobby. :ok_hand:
