Managd to get up to something useful today after over a week laid out with the flu. Old Welly G17 still functions although the mag catch is still worn. Fitted the RMR just to see if would work OK. Works fine
Then had a head shaking moment as I stupidly followed the rabbit hole on the WM thread. Lucas would be mortified given the amount work he had done to get the WM rifles converted to gel. Hope I never have to read a thread like that again
Nice, bit of Inluenza A getting around, friend went down with it.
Plus the pollen hay fever season is upon us. Good to hear you are on the mend ![]()
Nor do I, got called a cunt personal attack for nothing. Wasn’t even talking to the prick has issues. See if I give a fuck.
busy work making 6 figures this week going well.
Went to get a couple of cheap m4 drum mags I seen online but unfortunately they were out of stock in store
The guy in the shop gave me a free drum mag that was apparently from a returned blaster, he wasn’t sure if it worked, hence free.
Loaded it up and tried on one of the young fellas blasters and attempted to mag prime, sounded like the motor was going but it wasn’t feeding gels up the tube, dang…
Hoping it’s a simple case of the mag terminals wired backwards as it looks like the drum mag has been pulled apart as well as repainted so when I have time I’ll pull it apart and try to see what the issue is
Hoping it’s an easy fix then I’ll be repainting it
Yeah, checking those terminals is your first thing to check. .
Then check that the worm gear on the mag motor’s properly engaging and not just spinning on the motor shaft.
It won’t be a big problem, you’ll sort it. ![]()
Pulled it apart, there’s doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with the wiring, was possibly misaligned at the feed tube, pulled it apart and had a look, everything looked normal, wasn’t an easy access to the wiring so didn’t think it was the terminals the wrong way so clipped it back together and tried it out on my slr, mag primed pretty quick and fired, once half way through the mag it wasnt firing every shot n missing every few gels…
was mag priming on the your fella’s blaster for longer than it should have taken n nothing was happening… so not sure if it was just having issues feeding the gels up or if it just doesn’t like to feed when the mags half empty… definitely won’t be using it for games tho with unreliable feeding
May pull it apart again another day and see if there’s anything I can do to help it feed better but that’s another days drama
Drum mags in a nutshell. I’ve never had any that worked in more than a couple of the 20 something m4s I own.
Imo there are only two good drum mags
The vector double drum. But it is barely functional soon the the rps is anything above standard.
The XYL arp9 drum. These are actually proper good, even at 30 odd rps. Shake I don’t like arp9s!
Of course drums for specific blasters will have the edge with functionality. Made for a thing to do a thing.
M4 drums… there are so many and they are all fussy and if they do work they aren’t good for much more than stock rof.
I’m pretty sure it’s this one
Drum Magazine for JM Gen.8 M4 – Black
Says “brands: Jin Ming” on x-force website
I was thinking maybe the magazine motor couldn’t keep up with the Jinji SLR you upgraded for me but after reading your post is sounds like drum mags just aren’t overly reliable, which is a shame
On this one it seems to be an issue of the gels not falling into place at the bottom of the magazine to allow it to feed properly but even after giving the the blaster and drum mag a gentle shake to let them fall into place it still wasn’t firing every shot and quite often missing several shots
Might try my luck with a different drum mag for shits an giggles down the track and just see how this one goes with my cheaper blasters like my JM m4a1 etc.
What about this Jingji cqb SLR drum mag? Do you think it might go better on the SLR than the one I scored for free?
Cheers for the perspective ![]()
The magazine motor in those, and many drums is often slower than most. And coupled with many drums have an extra gear to make them slower doesn’t help.
A faster magazine motor can help them, but they are still limited to around 25 rps, which if you run a drum this size is plenty wild enough.
The “JingJi” drum, i found similar to all drums… fussy fit, same sort of feeding.
I’ve had one for some time that I have been meaning to through a better mag motor in but being my stuff, just haven’t had time to do it!
A long time ago in a galaxy far away……….
There was a few who had figured out the feed issues with the Drum Mags was in the design of the “junction box” where the gels fed into the motor.
A bit of filling and reshaping was required to get the gels flowing and feeding properly/reliably.
It just depends on whether you think the juice is worth the squeeze, but if you have a couple laying around and have the time to tinker, they can be made to work well and have nothing to lose having a crack at it!![]()
Hmmmm
Definitely something to think about and given that the one I’ve got was a freebie it’s not like I’m losing anything trying to fix it
Unless I fuck it up completely that is ![]()

Still recovering from flu and getting depressed by binge searching iHobby and x-Force. Think I need a DB P226. tan CYMA and E&C G45. The wishlist at T238 exacerbates the depression. Now just have to wait for the inheritance from that rich uncle in Fiji
That flu’s an arsehole, hey? ![]()
Get better soon, mate. ![]()
Fkn work trucks broken down halfway to the Jobsite
Waiting for a colleague to pick me up n take me back to the depot to get another truck
So won’t have time to get drinks or dinner before work and not very fkn impressed

Procrastinated - and iHobby is out of stock of P226. Looks like priority is in fixing a/c on wife’s car
I literally must have bought the last one…
I got it, as a “pull down - silver paint up” jobbie, for the RE sentinel 9 I’m about to do…
Sorry….
