Good stuff should do.
Just give it to Roksolid as he has nothing to do…
Good stuff should do.
Just give it to Roksolid as he has nothing to do…
Ha
Ha Ha
Ha Ha Ha… you gotta laugh…
All this drama, for a tri lug, for the cyma MP5, including…
Then, and only then , when i encountered resistance removing and jiggering around with the original flash hider… did i realise…
It was either laugh or cry, i went with laugh…
I can hear the echo’s reverberating back, from SA…!!
Plastic cyma’s on left, metal lug with metal knurled cover on right.
I couldn’t believe it…!!
I also then , seemed to remember someone from the old forum, having the same ‘pleasant’ little surprise…
Having said that, the cyma plastic one DIDN’T have the knurled cover ring…and the only way to get one, is to buy the metal tri lug…
Drilling it out was no hassle… it took awhile to assemble the ryobi press drill.
Ozito had one for nearly half the price ( $160 vs $300) , but they had some negative reviews, and ryobi make good gear.
I’d been meaning to buy one for awhile… stop hassling @Friendly_Fire , everytime i need something drilled…and when the new beretta’s arrive, i can drill them out to fit other bits of kit.
So, money not really wasted, as good tools always get used…
I’m just annoyed at myself… i did have a look at the original flash hider.
It has a weird rotating , sideways sliding latching mechanism, so originally, i thought it was just for show…
Rear view…
So, the good news is, for anyone getting a Cyma MP5, the tri lug is included.
You will need to purchase a knurled cover to fit, either from spares somewhere, or by getting a whole unit, from sixmm…
Anyway, i now have an all metal tri lug, instead of just plastic…
May my lessons, be to your benefit…!!
( Laughing, cause the other option is less fun…!!)
Final result piccies…
Tri lug on full display.
I had to trim off about 1cm of inner barrel… it was protruding out of the tri lug.
Its now flush.
1cm, shouldn’t make any real difference to fps…
Good final result…
Grab one, from @AKgelblaster, when they arrive in OZ…
Handy to know, there is a tri lug hiding in there…
ALSO… the supplied plastic one, screws in easily.
The metal one, appears to have the same thread /pitch…
However, it needs a fair bit more force, to screw on.
I stuck with the original plastic one, in case of re tapping to the metal, and the original not fitting anymore…just screwed the knurled end cover on…
Final joke / twist of fate….
I’ve gotten so used to seeing the larger flash hider on it…
I now think I prefer it…!!
I give up…!!
Never give up. Where’s the suppressor
Gotta choose one first…
Then, paint it the right black…!!
Which shade of black?
Enough rabbit holes, for one day…!!
The light up , colour change, sparkle supp goes on without drama’s…
Just the thing, to dispense those NSW ‘joy sparkle ball orbs’ …!!
Hmmm…
When reassembling, i noticed one of the mag prime wires came off…
I know its just a matter of resoldering back on, where it came off…
However… i cant see where that is.
The block is covered in a light blue goop.
I cant see a blank spot where it came off…
Was it in contact, with the other wire, near the solder point.??
Mag is powered and feeds… just lost prime…
any help appreciated.
It was the wire on the right, which came adrift.
It seemed to have one tiny solder drop, point of contact.
Looks like one wire may have broken connection… hard to tell with the goop in the way… and they are tiny so hard to get a good photo of
Yeah, its a tough one…
Even with my 3x loupes / light… i cant see where it came from.
i took the whole switch block off… i cant see a bare patch, where it came from.
The blutack is just to hold the wire in place, while soldering.
the solder ended in one little tip point…
That got me wondering, was it soldered onto the other wire.?
I resoldered it back on, and tried to touch, but it all melts and you cant see anything.
Cant see any bare patch, where it came from…
At least the mag works.
ALSO… the t-piece wasnt glued in at all…just pushed in.
The barrel was rotating, with screwing on / off the tip…
It just pulls out.
Epoxied up, now…
If you are feeling game, mag in, connect. Li-Ion battery ideally… less hazardous in a short scenario…
and Briefly touch the switch wires together… it should mag prime.
It might have pulled the terminal out of the switch maybe? Might be lucky and able to push it back in.
You could always replace the whole switch with a new Jaycar item.
Then you’ll know where to solder the wires.
WTF is that bluetack?
C’mon get soldering to beef your wires up If I can do it so can you
I don’t need a wtf is it Loupe
Ok…soldering on…
connected the wire to the other…now, when battery connected, it runs mag prime non stop.!! Not that then.!!
I can disconnect with soldering iron…
Now, looking for where else i can connect it to.?
Allowing the wire to lay in its memory shape…but just blue goop every where…
Gahh…
the current switch, has a little hole , to sit in the cut out…
I dont know if a jaycar switch will fit…?
It might be easier to figure out the wiring for that switch if you take the top of the receiver off and take the retaining screw out so the switch is fully visible.
Getting rid of the blue blob of doom would help too.
Yeah, ive done that…
Had the switch off, and looked where it wanted to lay…
even used the heat tip, to remove / expose looking for metal…
No luck…
Short of opening the switch right up…
not tonight…
