AKGelblaster G36...( Or..."Dont want a LDT, yeah you know me!)

You know where i’m coming from…

Just to bust some rhymes, and set the tone…

Not a full review tonight, just dropping an intro.
I found this teardown vid, of the JM version.
Its pretty similiar, so i’ll leave it here…

makes life easier, when you have a guide…

Key points for tonight…

  • Taketown not as easy as LDT, but not too bad
  • Blowback is easy to disable
  • Stock spring is crap. M100 fits no probs
  • Quick Upgrade to —fps???
Guess, the Fps and ROF…answers 2morrow…

First prize…one pair of safety glasses
Second prize…two pairs of safety glasses…!!

And, If i see in the comments…" Scumbag…what a tease…!!" etc etc

Then, its 3 pairs of glasses and a Tactoys video…!!

I’m just tired tonight…

Not fair! You’ve got to give us the FPS in stock trim first…:rofl:

Okay…

G36 was the lame-o , out if the bunch…( with good reason…TBA).

180-190…210 max. 750 r/min.

It wins prize, for most improved, though, once issue was corrected…

Dang, I was thinking of getting one too…

I’m going to throw a guess out there that once corrected it was hitting around 260-270fps

You can keep the safety’s tho, Ive got plenty, not just from blasters purchased in the past but from work as well lol

Full review soon…full details to be revealed…
It’s a cracker when sorted out…

This should get @AKgelblaster 's attention…

Review of the G36.!!

Initial impressions… Wa Wa Wee Wah.!!
Very Nice.!!

Very solid in the hand, hefty, sturdy are words that spring to mind.
I’ll do a comparo to the LDt at the end.
The LDT is slightly ahead on build quality…but not by much.
This is a solid build, that you won’t be dissapointed with.

Markings are stenciled on, not engraved.

Fake weld marks…

Semi transparent mags…

Why are you looking so shocked.??

No Luke… I am your father…Mind Blown…!!

I need to lie down, now…

Wrap me up in a blankie…its nap time…!!

When i first got it, a few things were apparent…

*Blowback was very loud and annoying.

*Fps was quite low. Like, something was wrong low. Around 180-190, with the max of 210 fps. I figured there was some sort of fault…

Time for a pull apart, to investigate…

Teardown video above helped.
LDT is easy, 2 pins out , and its apart.
This is a bit more involved, but not hard.

Got down to the grip and gearbox…v3 style…

It has a plate at the rear, behind the Spring retainer.
Just as well…

Can you see the bomb, waiting for me.?.?

Spring retainer had come loose, and was protruding out.
That was why fps was low…spring was out, further back, and not compressing properly.

Funny, as it has a 4 point retention system…

So, it looks like an assembly error that slipped through.
Easy enough to fix though…new M100 spring inserted.

Whole lotta wires, on the LHS…

Blowback is easy to disable.
The tab unscews from the top of the unit.
Its made of really weak nylon, and hacksaw took like 3 strokes to kill it…
It would probably self destruct before long…

Hello Mr Blowback plate…

BYE BYE, Mr Blowback plate…wont be missed…sorry, not sorry…!!

When undoing the motor base, you need to undo all 3 screws.
The big middle one is NOT a motor ht adjustment…

Battery Compartment is easy.
Forward wired, and one pin removes the front compartment.

Its easiest to hold the blaster upside down, to support the battery, when reinstalling…

Anyway…all back together, and time for a test fire.

Using pink xforce/ blue ihobbies got the following…

SEMI… 310-320 fps

AUTO …Varying 285 Low, 325 High.

I’d call that a solid 315 fps auto blaster.!!
Very healthy numbers!!

I didn’t crack the gearbox last night, and i dont think i need to…very good results.

All this, from just a M100 spring upgrade, with not a long barrel.

So far i have done nothing, to the Scar…275 fps from the standard spring.
Later on, i’ll crack it open, new oring, new spring… i reckon a solid 330 fps, from a M100 should be close to the money.

These results are good…on par with what a new SW Pulse rifle does.
All from a nylon gearbox.

Lateral spread is pretty good too…

Final thoughts…

No battery box jitters here.

No mag prime.

A very solid blaster, sturdy construction, good performance acheiveable with minimal upgrades. M100 spring, and a bit of time.

The weight is good, less than the LDT, which i like.

At $250 (really, $225 minus battery cost), this is a solid bit of kit.
If you like em , grab one, you won’t be dissapointed.
I think they’ll go fast.

I hope they have more coming, next order.
And more mags.!

Great work mate, looking and performing fantastic, you must be very happy with it, I would be! :joy::ok_hand::+1:

Do you want a display one, for WA.?.?!

No no no!

I have enough already thank you very much!

Happy to follow along here and see the finer details of these newer products and what you lucky people are doing to them. :ok_hand::sunglasses:

If i’m working this hard, reviewing them and fault finding…

@RokSolid must be flat out…!!

one more to go…

Awesome work, detailed pics and solid information, you are doing well! :raised_hands:
It’s all gaining more knowledge and skills at the same time, which goes a long way to be self supporting in the Hobby to build the confidence to attack any issues that arise. :sunglasses:

And they say the G36 runs hot…

Check that accuracy past 200m…!!

That’s madness!
The risks of cooking off would have me noping the hell outta there!

USA USA…!!
Trump voter.??

might explain it…

Can you remove the rear plate to do a spring change or does the gearbox have to come out?
