haha yes I have some too for above reasons. Not nail polish. ![]()
Nice work on it so coming along nicely by the looks ![]()
Going all out on this one…
High Gloss Black, everywhere…
High detail, high shine…
Lets see how it ends up.!
PROGRESS…
Photo Reel…
Paint prep protection… ( Or a Squiddy Contraception device…!!)
Finished these…Countdown still works…
Inserted test fit…Shiny…!!
Looks so much better, than whitish plastic…!!
The problem is…now i wanna go back, and do the pump door on the others…!!
Which means pulling them apart.
Or, maybe, mask carefully around the door opening, cover all the shrouds, and spray the door (closed) where it is…
Should work…
Looking good Sir
Hopefully it’s 30mm

All finished…!!
Ran into a spot of bother with the soldering…
1 wire all good, covered with heatshrink properly.
The other one, heatshrink shrank on the wire nearby, and couldn’t move.
So, i got some extra large shrink, cut it open one side and wrapped it around.
Hit with flame, this still left a exposed area ( away from other wire).
I wrapped this with masking tape.
I know you’ll say…masking tape can get hot…but, the bulk of the wire is covered in heatshrink.
Ughhh…
and remember…short controlled bursts…! ( should keep the wires cool enough)
Anyway, all done.
With the Grenade launcher loading gate, i decided to go with a more muted option.
This allows the side cover to be the centre of attention, and not compete with the port…
I used Gunmetal grey ( not light gunmetal), and a couple of coats of Smoke.
Looks nice, gleamy, while blending in with the body…
That looks awesome.
One thought for the wiring troubles(I have trouble too ) sometimes I use this stuff to insulate.
It’s pretty good
Just a thought so you don’t cross the streams

So, used hi-gleam everywhere…it really brings up the details.
Now, i wanna go back, and do the others…!!
The standard grey, just looks rubbish now, and the shotty loader looks cool…
I used dymark flat black, followed by Tamiya semi gloss clear.
The side shell, was just straight Tamiya Light gunmetal grey (no clearcoat reqd)
Loadgate…Tamiya Gunmetal, and smoke cover.
Check out the gleam, in the spas cage…
With the above photo…check out the side cover.
The paint, really makes it gleam, … and ‘curve’
It really shows off the rounding of the cover…whereas unpainted, its just flat looking
That looks awesome
Well done sir ![]()
Dammit…
Now, i’ve convince myself, to pull the other olive one apart again…
Full gloss respray, do the side pump and lower loading gate…
Then, i’m looking at the black one…same treatment.??
And, brown Bess did have low fps out of the box…
Hey, @RokSolid …has gelball nobody done a pulse rifle yet.?.?
![]()
Just leave the ones already done alone, ffs… ![]()
I can see this spiralling out of control… I’m thinking it might be time for an intervention. ![]()

Take a step back… deep breath… find your neutral space… chant your mantra five times…
“UZI… UZI… UZI… UZI… UZI”
Na fk it, let’s break Rok. 10mm caseless Auto and Sigourney Weaver or go home ![]()
Might have to make a M41E2.
Even Terminator 2 resistance fighters used the pulse rifle
![]()
And…Jerry Seinfeld, has a collection of over 150 Porsches….
I don’t feel bad, about my PR collection…!!

So much pulse rifle!
No Rok has not don’t a pulse rifle yet, he still has two of your blasters to finish already ![]()
Lookin good though BME!
Hey, I found a great use for your spare SW PR shroud kit, Beemer…
In the series “Alien : Earth” the weapons used by the Prodigy Search & Resue teams are based on a Steyr AUG body mashed up with an M41A upper shroud. ![]()
That got your creative juices pumping, @BME ? ![]()
Lets see…
Shrouds are made …
by the same company, for the same blaster, the same colour , the same shape, the same angles…
I guess its a maybe.?.?
That power of suggestion…
Damn, Beemer… that’s so acheivable. ![]()
If that was mine I’d be trimming off everything below the waist, shortening it up to keep the size perspective then sticking that sucker onto that AUG.
Something truly unique… with some Hollywood cool to it as well.
I mean… it’s not like you don’t have PRs to spare. ![]()
it doesn’t quite fit, properly…as with the prop above.
The size / shape / scale of the shrouds, are different.
With the above tv series prop pic, they obviously just made their own shroud to fit.
took inspiration, from the overall shape and scale, and made one that fit the Aug. The Aug shroud is smaller and overall more compact. Same as the Vector.
And, the matter of dressing up the front end, with the different black foregrip.
Not saying it couldn’t be done… i just don’t have the time for it at present…
