Aw ne1001

Ok, Ok,
I know i said i’d wait…
but…

Being on leave, i put my name in the book to work, and i got an extra trip.
Renno’s and all that…

It was pretty easy to convince myself to spend , the $70, i was waiting to save…my excuse anyway…!!

So, here it is…

Standard 1911 breakdown procedure, and a quick lube up…
Performance is what you’d expect from a short barrel GBB…and its loud…
Must be that vented barrel…!!

First of , it feels and looks…nice…!!
CNC finish is very realistic looking, though it does show fingerprints easily.

The mag is a standard AW single stack, holds 13 gells, and protrudes about 1cm from the bottom.
This is actually a good thing, as it allows your little finger to rest on it, and “doesn’t cramp”, your grip.

Comparo with a glock 19x.

Sizewise, very similar, though the glock does perform a little better. I did try the AW with older gells, so i’ll try a fresh batch later on, and see if it makes any difference.
What is worth mentioning, is that the glock is pretty much uniform width from top to bottom, the AW does have a big fat ass…

The glock is pretty ubiquitous, wheras the AW looks funky, and unique…
I find, holding the glock, your grip does tend to compress, to fit on the available grip-space…

You can see why police / special forces favour glocks…no hammers, safety’s latches, to catch on anything else

Size comparo, with a standard 1911…

And the larger, compensator version…

Finally… ww2 commander

Same mag, for all 4 versions, single stack AW…
Also serves as a run through, of my .45 collection…!!( Goldy notwithstanding)

Must be edging closer, to @Davbot71 pistol collection numbers , now…!!

Stumpy would look good with some 1911 style grips. Would look great in real leather holster

Is that yours, or an image from the net?
Grips look good, but 1911 grips are too long…
Where would you get other grips from…?

Image from net. It’s a Kimber compact

Went down to WAT this afternoon. It’s a nice thing but only a collector / display piece. Too heavy to be carting around in a game.

I’d readily agree with that…
The glock 19x is much lighter, compact and a better performer, for a game.

I just need, to work on my fear, of not having enough gel blasters…!!:joy::joy:

It wakes me up, at 3am…!! :joy::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Its funny, though…

If you are a collector, you collect… whatever…

Most collectors dont have one or two items…they have dozens+

My mate Cruze collects vintage surfboards, 80’s 90’s era onwards…
He has a room with 100+ of them…
They have a online forum as well, where members buy / sell /trade…

Get 10 a year, of whatever, and it doesn’t take too long, before numbers start to get big…

I must admit, sometimes i think " do i have too many?"
But, fuck it, you only live once, if thats what floats yer boat, then go for it…

My entire collection, would not even pay for 1 Rolex watch…( not that i’d buy a Rolex)
And, dont get me started on all the $$$ given to the govt, via tax…

At least surfboards, dont get leaky gas seals…!!

Better than being woken up at 3am by that damn Emirates flight to Dubai

Used to collect anything Mercury Cougar. At last count I had 500 1:64th scale diecast models of Cougars. Been gradually selling the 1:43 and 1:18th

Going to take my collection of Denix to the next Arms Fair and see if I can raise enough cash for M1 carbine and 1911a1

give it a few years, and petrol cars will be a thing of the past…

Years ago, dad had a valiant charger…
Mum took it when she left…and always smacked it parking in the narrow driveway…!!

It was light orange/ yellow, like this example…

Wow…!!
Awe struck…!!
Love the old classics…!!

I’ll send a DM, about tracking down /getting in touch, with the owner, of Dads XK120…

I’d love to get that back one day, if its ever available again…
It meant so much to him, and me, he’d have been furious, it was sold…

Looks great, I like it :+1:

The charger, the Cougar, or the pistol…?.! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Thread drift…!!

I’d be up for a Classic Cars thread… as long as it includes two wheel classics.
