Ok, Ok,
I know i said i’d wait…
but…
Being on leave, i put my name in the book to work, and i got an extra trip.
Renno’s and all that…
It was pretty easy to convince myself to spend , the $70, i was waiting to save…my excuse anyway…!!
So, here it is…
Standard 1911 breakdown procedure, and a quick lube up…
Performance is what you’d expect from a short barrel GBB…and its loud…
Must be that vented barrel…!!
First of , it feels and looks…nice…!!
CNC finish is very realistic looking, though it does show fingerprints easily.
The mag is a standard AW single stack, holds 13 gells, and protrudes about 1cm from the bottom.
This is actually a good thing, as it allows your little finger to rest on it, and “doesn’t cramp”, your grip.
Comparo with a glock 19x.
Sizewise, very similar, though the glock does perform a little better. I did try the AW with older gells, so i’ll try a fresh batch later on, and see if it makes any difference.
What is worth mentioning, is that the glock is pretty much uniform width from top to bottom, the AW does have a big fat ass…
The glock is pretty ubiquitous, wheras the AW looks funky, and unique…
I find, holding the glock, your grip does tend to compress, to fit on the available grip-space…
You can see why police / special forces favour glocks…no hammers, safety’s latches, to catch on anything else
