Really the only issue would be getting mags.
Also the link to the post on FB
I notice there are fuck all listings for gels on ebay now. ![]()
Correct, as it stands at the Federal level. But States still have to gather and debate what they are going to do yet.
This is an absolute clusterfuck and it stems from the top. Asleep at the wheel mr Blabanese.
Things will change in the coming months as states debate and figure out what they are doing under the Federal Gov, but like 96 it takes time and lots of back and forth.
Like 30 round mag limit, err duh, learn to shoot straight only need one ffs. Unless competition IPSC then you need lots, but you reload quick, I don’t even know a rifle that normally uses more than 30 anyway, like ffs how many do you want.
On that point I was like you’ve got to be kidding me when some lady described the shooter as using a belt fed shotgun at Bondi. I was like wtf, well that’s new. Fuck me drunk. Some new technology I don’t know about.
Sorry probly bit tired and stuff with working at night to beat the heat and catching up and push back on this stuff.
As of now it is only the import of a firearm looking toy via the Federal lvl. Not states or what is allready here in Australia. Thanks mr home affairs minister for fucking everything up.
Well I thought the same wtf airsoft is legal now. Ok lets get some 6mm hydraulic pipe and order a shit ton of pellets from Evike and game on. Like wtf this is the biggest clusterfuck I’ve ever seen in my 50yrs of living.
In my state thus far all their is crickets, just nothing.
That’s what I was thinking,
Definitely have to mask up and wear thick clothes with that shit tho ![]()
I have been preparing a lengthy post to keep everyone informed, and I am not joking when I say lengthy… so prepare a coffee when it comes to read it as it is LONG.
Just quickly… to settle the argument.
Airsoft is not legal, in any state of Australia. State laws say no.
Can you import one? Only theoretically by reading the federal laws; but being illegal in every state of Australia you will see it is a NO.
You will not be granted permission to import airsoft in Australia, even in theory if you were able to get federal approval to do so, you are subject to state laws; in which airsoft is ILLEGAL, in every state in Australia. I can not stress that enough.
Stop considering it, it is nothing but a dream. Spend your efforts elsewhere.
We were lucky just to get and keep gel. The gel veterans among us would remember the legal battles Brad Towner (champion) and the late Peter Clark (rest in peace you awesome man) had in the past to keep gel in legal existence we have enjoyed.
If you want airsoft, leave the country, we will never get it here with the anti gun sentiment ingrained so deeply. It was lucky we got gel.
Australia is only going to get tougher, not lighter on firearms and toy restrictions.
Sorry to crush your dreams guys but reality calls.
My lengthy update needs some work, hopefully today I will feel satisfied with it and post it.
It has been a lot of work, and answers are still coming in.
At least we are lucky, in that we can keep what we have.
If QLD state laws remain the same, thats a big win in terms of blasters remaining legal / not needing a license and safe etc etc.
Squiddy, the price of the M-60 has gone up even further…!!

Thankfully gel has been around for some time now, and everyone has had the chance to get the models they want.
All the " Old classic" and WW2 models have been available, and collections have had a chance to mature, and people have had the chance to get their " must have" models…
Thank goodness the Uzi got through in time…!!
New releases had been pretty thin on the ground recently, most of the classic models have already been released…
UZI, M-60, Mp-40, sten just squeezed in, M-16, AK-47, MP5 variants etc etc…
Most of the “big ticket items” were available, for those who wanted them…
I’m lucky to have a big collection, and “light backyard use” should see them last for a long time yet.
Moral of the story…if you want something, grab it NOW…!
Keeping what we have, is better than Vic / Nsw/ WA …
Now…
Should i grab one of those Carl Gustof Launchers, before they dissappear forever .??

Well, it is and it isn’t… typical give something with one hand then take something away with the other approach.
You gotta remember… blaster techs all over the country are losing their livelihoods, unless they’re licenced armourers. So unless you’ve got that little golden ticket, modifying an existing “firearm”, including gel blasters, is now a criminal offense.
Ergo, you can’t convert your gel blaster into an airsoft marker without breaking the law. Technically, and if you’re going to go by the letter of the legislation, you can’t even crack a blaster open to change an o ring. So as these blasters fail, which they do over time, you won’t even be able to change out an o ring legally.
What kind of buffoon polly draughts a law making an item legal, yet illegal to import, knowing full well there aren’t any in the country already, therefore making the legalisation of said item completely redundant?
I’ll tell ya who… a very smart and cunning polly…
Happy Australia Day ![]()
They are not “legal” in any way.
Basically… They are a prohibited import that you can ask permission for. Being illegal in any state they won’t give it to you. Simple.
And now gel and NERF are there with them being the major change.
Will be interesting to see Hasbro’s response to the new legislation, though being a massive international company I am sure they will have their ways of dealing with it, and the only effect for them is likely a price rise to compensate for the extra effort involved.
Hmmm…
I was going to import , from HCG, the all resin, non firing Robocop pistol replica…
Will just a B709 still be enough.??
Non firing sci-fi, and all that…??
Seeing as how it’s based on a repica real-steel chassis, I’d be doing a B709, just in case. ![]()
But you just know that B709 will be dealt with in NSW or the ACT, so good luck with that… still, won’t hurt to test out the waters.
Sci-fi blasters have been knocked back before in Vic and NSW just on the basis of them having an AR style grip… nothing else, just the grip🙄
I know all of this and more, I was kidding around as I was spent, tired from the fight and me and a prominent buddy he’s like f this I need a holiday.
Why I keep saying just keep an eye on your state laws which not one state has changed as of yet because they have to convene and deliberate.
Clusterfuck mumble grumble.
Hopefully they make some amendments to allow proper retailers to import firearm looking toys which is on the cards and being considered in certain states. Up for debate and up to the state.
Bit like this…
I nearly lost my shit yesterday. Don’t get angry, get even is my motto. Anyway I had my own lamb chops and a beer for breakfast because it’s Australia Day and I’m having a day off fk it all. ![]()
Damn… I really don’t know what to say… and here I thought we had it bad in China with all these grey area laws and constant fear of the political wind changing on a day to day basis. I guess we’re all still at the mercy of politicians and a few bad apples, we had a couple of those this year in China, some dumbass kids modding their blasters to fire gas propelled metal balls and somehow managed to hit people, even resulting in one death.
I really hope this shit turns around for you guys, it really felt like we were long lost brothers on different sides of the planet.
Cheers, we are fighting for everything really.
The few spoil it for the many responsible and gov was pre staged anyway as of 8 months ago for a tighten up. Due to THEIR incompetence Bondi happened and now we have a shit show.
Leadership problem. Starts at the top, always.
Now Labour is censoring discussion about gun reform on the Internet and they are doing it sneaky, a woman is ordering it.
Tsk tsk naughty person.
No gel blasters won’t make Australia safer. It is totally irrational.
Absolutely nothing, to do with Bondi shooting…
And yet police, security and even army sometimes use gel blasters as training aids, I’d say that makes Australia safer (and cheaper than using real steel training aids).
