Has anyone been to Mango Hill Skirmish recently? Theyāre almost never active on FB and donāt respond to messages.
Just wondering if theyāre still holding gel sessions on weekends, they seemed to had cut back last time I went, even though they always had a good number of players.
Me the missus and a couple of mates are keen to get a game back at Mangoā¦ Iāll try and ring em tomorrow/ during the week.
They used to have gel on near every Sunday
Theyāre my local field, donāt get to go very often but last time I went they were every Sunday basically open to close but then they started posting on FB when theyāll have sessions but the last was back in May

I had one Federal operator tell me I had 300mm of rain last year. I laughed and said, not to be rude I had 80mm and the BOMās nearest weather station is 100klms away. Oh right. I log my rainfall right here of what I actually get.

Yeah, whether protests and petitions are taken seriously or not, I see no value in just rolling over and giving in without a bit of a fightā¦ but thatās always going to be an individual choice.
My mottoās always been āno guts, no gloryā. If you donāt try, you guarantee failure and give them exactly what they wantā¦ apathy. At least if you try you can sleep at night knowing you did all you could to keep the hobby alive.
On the other hand, itās kind of hard to muster up the enthusiasm when itās patently obvious the whole gel blaster scene is in Canberraās sights.

Ignoring the facts, they are enacting all this, because gel offendsā¦.

Fact: Despite several million blasters being in circulation, they are mostly not used in violent crimes, or public threatening displays.
Fact: The state of QLD has spoken, they are classified as a toy, and legislated as such.
Fact: They sell , and continue to sell, as there is demand for them
people ( yāknow taxpayersā¦.the people who pay the politicians) actually want them.
Fact: QLD police has publilcy stated many times, gel blasters are not a problem, with extremely low rates of misuse.
Fact: The vast majority of owners do the right thing.
Fact: Peopleās jobs / livlihoods are on the lineā¦. Maybe a point lost on pollies who have never been in business, in all their lifeā¦
Choosing to ignore these Facts, where the greater good outweighs the bad, a small , select group of beauracrats in Canberra have simply decidedā¦.
Nopeā¦we just dont like itā¦.
Letās do everything we can, to ban it and stop itā¦

Mine too. Itās paid off too just today. Unrelated to gel blaster hobby but I finally, after months got somewhere with the Gov. I was not taking no for an answer
