"Come Quietly, or there will be Trouble"...( No, not a mother in law porno..Robocop Auto 9!)

Interesting to read that article about the actual Robocop Auto9, how the armourer made up a 7 shot rachet for Robos’ 93 Raffica.

Now you’re talking  wouldn’t mind sitting down with that guy one day :+1:

Bwahahahaha

I keep looking at this kit.

It looks reasonably straightforward.

It whispers alluringly to me…

“cmon, it’ll be easy…fun too…
It wont be too much work, or take too much time…
A lil bit of sanding, a lil bit of drilling…easy peasy…
No major dramas, i swear…”

If only the truth, aligned with the promises…!!

I reckon it could be done.
But, you’d have to sacrifice a m93, permanently to do so…

I reckon it would need custom drilling of the kit, and the M93, to make it all fit.
Also, it wont go together like the 3d printed model, it will need araldite to permanently attach it…

Which it will need, after all the scratches and scuff marks, getting the kit on and off, numerous times…

And, you’d need to grind the front sight off, and remove the rear sight.

All this, for a 140 fps robocop blaster.

Should i…??

Yeah… go for it.

No guts, no glory.

Ring ring Friendly Fire can you mod this for me :joy:

I reckon I’ll be right…

Progress.

Had to knock the raised grip screwholes off, for the grips to fit flush.

The magwell, was too tight, for the mag to go through.

Got the grips on, and aligning with screw holes…

Opened up the magwell a bit.

The problem is, the main body of the mag can get through, but will need further widening, if bulbuous lower part of mag is to fit through. Its currently not connecting all the way up…

Enough for one night…

@DChapo , whats the best bur to use, for drilling / widening the magwell?

i need to widen the hole, along all 4 sides, as smoothly as possible.
the depth is around 2cm deep.

Tonight, i used a rough round sandpaper finishing disc, as it was all i had in the kit.

In guessing a 2cm long drilling bur.?
What is the best type (ie wood working/ metal working) for removal of 3d material?
Whats the best way to clean the bur, after it clogs a bit.?

I’ve gone through the thicker layer, and getting into the honeycomb section now…

Also available at Bunnings… Sausage in bread time!! because you know lowest prices are just the beginning. :joy:

I was about to say burr cutter. Give that a wiz. Slow and steady if you go flat out the magwell will dissapear

Clockwise rotation towards the body. Just like dental surgery.

wheels forward is smooths the road…
Dragging wheels backwards, chews up the road…!

The number of dental students i taught that to, on crown prep practise…

i.e. cutting direction / smoothing direction, depends on the direction of
bur rotation…

Yeah as Friendly posted those bits will take material out quick if you’re not careful, especially if you’re going perpendicular to the layer lines so soft strokes, then use one of those little sanding drums with fine grit or even just hand sand to finish it out smooth.

Cause I cbf getting my Dremel out all the time I usually just use files and sandpaper for today up jobs, start course and get finer, same principles as woodworking/carpentry just a softer material.

Oh and compressed air helps a lot too for clearing debris, you can get cans from Officeworks for like $10 and they have triggers and a straw nozzle to get into crevasses.

I can’t really add any more to what’s already been said.

Bunnings better have their sausage bread with onion or there WILL be trouble! Sauce too for me.

No onions…doesn’t cut the mustard.!

Although using a burr away from the workface is a damn good way to remove a shit ton of material very quickly.

@Maiphut remember that horrible noise you heard when you were climb milling on a horizontal mill and the job got away from you?

Brrt brrt brrt brrt BRAAP BRAAP BRAAP BRAAP…

Ooh shit!

Haha yep. Or when your jobs not locked down oh shit damn twang busted cutter and everyone duck outbound block of steel :joy:

One fella didn’t do it right one day and punched a hole in the factory wall you could stick your head through.

I could go on with heaps of stories of f ups. Save that for a beer one day :joy:

Some funny some not so funny.

Progress.

It took a LOT of widening, to get the magwell opened enough, to get the mag all the way up, and locking into position.

It went from this…

To this…

Long round bur diet…!!

It got quite thin, into the honeycomb layers.
Hard to maintain accurate drilling, as the supporting material dissapears…

Finish lines ok…you wont see it from underneath.
Mag goes in and out, smoothly.

So…
Grips not fit perfectlt, and align with screwholes.

JUST enough screwholes, for thread to bite into…

Had to thin walls a bit, for front muzzle to go on.

The barrel is too thick to fit in, as is.

There is an outer barrel, and a inner barrel.
I’ll have to pull it down, remove the outer barrel, cut 3cm of it, and see if the inner barrel then fits in…not too much room for widening the hole.
