Mate, looks like ya just chasing Chooks! ![]()
Looks like thereās going to be some reports of low flying UAPs streaming in over in SA⦠![]()
Iām calling trick photographyā¦! ![]()

Must be AI
. All though my body begs to differ today ![]()
Change the thread title, to " Cracked Hip Replacement " ā¦!!!
![]()
Funnily enough, I did have hip surgery some years ago ![]()
I think I need a bum replacement after bottoming the PeeWee out
That smarted, not much suspension on those lil things.
Selector plate is still securely taped down, stuck on full auto.
Any chance youād be able to point out the sensor for cleaning on this fella?
One is a transmitter the other a receiver⦠doesnāt matter which is which, cutting bud and a bit of isopropyl alcohol should clean em up.
Hopefully I hats the issue.
Thanks mate will give them a wipe down.
Getting closer with the 11.1v and 7.4v comparison. So far 2 loops off the tappet plate spring and maybe 0.5mm off the tappet plate fin.
Owes me another 5 hours this morning ![]()
Trimmed another 1mm off the tappet plate tale, while there checked the gears were spinning freely, found the spur gear tight yet again, previously thought it was bad shimming but on closer inspection the bushings are coming out of their holes causing them to squeeze the spur and bevel gear. Use the fang dangled bushing installer/remover tool to push them back in. Blaster back together, fps is down to 250. Head scratching.
Pull apart again and the spur and sector gear are tight once again, pull it all apart, pop the bushings out and rough up the inside of the bushing holes to give the bushings more resistance. Back together again with a complete re shim. Test again, 250 fps with 11.1v battery, 1 in 5 shots or so there is no gel coming out of the barrel. Head scratching.
Tear down and find the air seal lacking for some reason I canāt fathom, since I havenāt screwed with that lately. Pull the top half apart, clean, new o rings, new oil, desktop test air seal appears to be back. Spin the gears and the spur and bevel gear are tight again so assuming the bushings are coming out of their socket again.
Love how every time I fix one problem, the blaster unlocks a new boss level.
That is annoying with the bushes. Are they a tight fit or can you easily pop them in and out?
Might be worth giving the bushes and holes a good clean with alcohol and use something to stick them in. If they are tight but not able to stay put red loctite is a good option. It is best left overnight at least though to cure, and is best applied before it gets looser.
If not tight some epoxy with a long working time like selleys super strenghth epoxy. Gives you plenty of time to spread it around the hole and get the bushes seated, and time to clean off the excess. Epoxy is a last resort for me but sometimes you have to when things are too loose⦠and it sucks because it takes 72 hours to fully cure!
Hopefully this thing runs out of boss levels soon!
I was going to suggest the same, Red Loctite on the bushings!
I used to use Bearing Retainer Loctite and did the job flawlessly and yet still easy to ācrackā the joint if required for refitting in the future.![]()
Roger Iāve got standard red loctite in the arsenal so Iāll try that
Iād say they are a medium fit, not loose but not crazy tight either.
As for boss levels, still on the to do list
-
Get the fire selector on this receiver fit the gearbox
-
Fix the mag feeding issue
-
Square up the VE ratio
-
Put the charging handle back in
-
Short stroke
Apologies for the wait, but this rainy day finally gave me some time to dig through the pile of boxes and get some pics of the old Silveredge/Titan Split gearboxes.
Iāve got quite a few here still unopened in their original boxesā¦
But as you can see, they are just old Pot Metal boxes and the very first aftermarket āSplitā type design that were released, so nothing special in this day and age, but quite āspace ageā technology back then!![]()
The included parts bag normally contains a set of bushes, mag terminal plate, metal motor mount, tappet plate, selector plate, metal safety latches, cheap cast 18:1 gears and a metal strip for the selector switch⦠but Iāve obviously raided this particular parts bag somewhere in the past, even though the gearbox itself was still all taped up in its original bubble wrap packaging.
The only issue I had with them is the specific design where the T-Piece engages the front of the gearbox.
I should have measured it whilst I had it on the bench, but didnāt cross my mind at the time of taking these pics.
I believe the inner diameter is smaller than most common T-Pieces/ & Gen8 style Nozzles, and uses a recessed/keyed type locking design that only suits certain types of T-Pieces unless modified to suit.
(Most likely an Airsoft design.)
Itās way too many Beers ago to remember which T-Pieces I used or whatever I modified, but Iām sure that @RokSolid or @Friendly_Fire might be able to shed some light on these types of T-Pieces.![]()
I did build a handful of these back in the day when there was nothing else available of their kind on the market, and also sent @ZeHamish one on the old Forum that he put together and seemed happy with the results⦠but thatās quite some time ago and thereās MUCH better products available in this day and age in comparison.!![]()
That looks very LDT-esque. Same looking in almost every way as the LDX 2.0 except the colour!
The front looks like an LDT tpiece would find as they do the same keyed tpiece design.
Cheers mate ![]()
I can only remember that at that early stage of the game I had mainly early JinMing/STD/SKD etc parts and none of that stuff would fit
I obviously eventually got it sorted out, but just too long ago to remember exactly what I used to finish the jobs. ![]()
Wouldnāt surprise me if these came from the same factory as LDT and just sold at a cheaper price with a different sticker on the Box!![]()
Hard to say when in China copying is considered a form of flattery!
Even if the front presents a problem with t piece fitment, as long as itās on the small side it would be pretty easily altered to fit, I reckon.
Gelati colours aside, they donāt look half bad as an option for nylon replacement. ![]()
Hang onto āem, Doc⦠the worm may turn over in W.A. (yeah, right!) and you might get to build one up and get it choochinā. ![]()
Quick, duck ⦠thereās a flying Pig!![]()
Yes I have memories of filing one out trying to adapt Gen8 style T-Pieces and nozzles prior to finding parts to fit properly, but even then they could only be used in certain blasters as those nozzles didnāt necessarily align with the mag wells/magazines correctly in some models.
I think @ZeHamish put his in an SLR for memory, or possibly a WELLS PDW/CQB.![]()
I Do have an SLR here somewhere, but my WELLS CQB and PDW models were some of the first to go when I had my cleanout, even though they were still the latest thing on the market.
Might have to start digging through and see if I have any T-Pieces that fit, even though I would have no idea what make or model they are as just random parts rattling around in boxes somewhere!
