Yea just a running joke when the SCAR first came out as it was different to AR type.
Iāve decided to try and 3d print a rotary grenade launcher.
40MAX shells are hard to find, though. Do people here know if they need an import permit or not? I am considering importing them myself (it is also cheaper to do this than buy from a local retailer; I want to buy a large quantity as well). Arguably, it is a Nerf blaster (fires those EVA foam balls) and afaik they do not require a permit at all, but Border Force might have other ideas.
X-Force were stocking the the 40max but appear to be out ATM, they have those DB ones like whatās next to it in your pick there.
As for importing Iām not 100% sure but Iād dare say youāll need an import permit regardless of theyāre intended for nerf.
Fair enough. I suppose Iāll get all of that sorted out, then.
I know you can order them form Ali reasonably cheap but I havenāt been game to import any.
Iāve filled out the form.
Any idea how long these take to get approved? AliExpress is quoting about 2 months for delivery. Any tips, do/do not do, etc.?
As long as the company you are buying these from doesnāt have Airsoft ties/association in their company name or activities, thatās one good thing in your favour
Planning to order straight from AliExpress. I believe these guys are the people that make it. It is usually labeled as a Nerf grenade shell and I am pretty sure they come in unlabeled brown cardboard boxes. They have a version for airsoft but I am not going to order it.
I havenāt had any issues with ordering from Ali and delivery has usually been quicker than quoted. Iāve never used one of those import form so donāt k ow how they work but I think you just have it in case BF pick it up, they either have it in their system of if you get a notification about it you can present it, again I donāt know for sure.
40MAX actually has a storefront on Ali so would be better to order from them, look for items that have more items sold and reviews, theyāre almost guaranteed to be legit, items that have hardly any are more likely to be scams, not to say they all are though.
Iāve ordered stuff from Sin Airsoft before but I think they change their storefront name to some other thing to get around that
Yeah thatās where I got that Metal M4 receiver confiscated years ago, because the company I ordered it from in the UK didnāt have the word Airsoft in their business name, but being legal in the UK and Gelblasters not being known over there, the office staff labelled the package as an āAirsoft Partā.
Yeah, Iām pretty sure this storefront is the actual company that makes these.
Iāll let them to know to label it as āNerf Blaster Partsā or something
Iād leave the word āBlasterā out of any description or documentation.
NERF Toy Parts would still be a proper legal description for the shipping documents, but much more likely to pass the ABF here than something with āblasterā in the description.
I mean, I applied for the B709A. Shouldnāt that be enough, so long as it gets approved? How long does that usually take, anyway?
Oh, and - should I place the order now, or wait until my permit is approved? AliExpress items can take a long time to arrive.
they wont give you b709ās for parts.
Only for whole and complete blasters.
Parts are, as always, soley at the discretion of ABF (even if you have a b709)ā¦
I had a b709 for a M4 spectre, it landed in Sydney, and got withheld.
Going through the āappealsā process nowā¦
Yeah thatās them, they have spare parts and everything too.
I see.
Alright then, Iāll just place the order, in that case.
But wait - these grenades can be fired on their own just by pressing the back like a flashlight. Arguably, that counts as a complete blaster, no?
If in doubt, ring up weapons licensing and ask them.
They might agree, who knows.?
And, ask they place some notes of your call, into their system.
It shows you are trying to do the right thing.
Best of luck.
