It took me a while to cotton on to the neodynium magnet trick. Think I saw someone do it on Youtube and the lightbulb came on.
So much better than a butter knife.
Havenāt looked back since. ![]()

Update: according to Ali, the package has ācleared import customsā. My B709 is far from processed, and frankly Iām not sure how this is possible when it is obviously still in China, but perhaps there is reason to be optimistic. I am still waiting for Amazon to deliver a spring I need to make the drum function properly.
Ahhā¦the joys of import trackingā¦.
Where days, dates, and updates donāt always add upā¦
I had something āout for postageā, on the 9th, and still hasnāt turned upā¦
Good luckā¦
Thatās likely Chinaās customs has been cleared, not Aus. Best of luck with the shitshow of import/export.
let me guess, Aramex couriers?
imile couriers suck.
AliExpress.
You cannot contact them, and they do not reply to Any form of communication.
Total crap.
Oh yea they do suck bawls.
Run by the arabs in the UAE. They donāt care if your phone does a fkn lap of australia before you get it!

You have to get the seller to contact Aramex/imile to get anywhere. Usually itās what I got oh your phone dissappeared in Brisbane after going through Victoria, then flew to Dubya, then to Adelaide (so it was nearly here) then got sent straight up to Brisbane and dissappeared. That is no joke. They Aus post expressed me another arrived the next day.
Oh crap⦠half the stuff Iām waiting on off eBay seems to have been shipped from the UAE, which was a shock, as almost everything comes from China ![]()
Maybe thatās just where they have their large picking and packaging Warehouses ![]()
Iāve had more local stock orders so the run around than stuff from overseas. Maybe itās just the stuff that I order from Ali (usually hardware parts).
An order I had from Ausgel went from Morayfield to Ipswich before making itās way back up to me in Kallangur, it would of been quicker if I could of just gone and picked it up.
Drop shipper. As things are not flash from China atm and wonāt be for a good month with Chinese new Year coming everything there shuts down for a week minimum. Tough on businesses.
I said somewhere else donāt try importing for a good month when things reboot and restart or youāll be disappointed. Some will come through and call bs on me and thatās fine too you got lucky.
I do miss John from CHGBB, top fellow and boom your order arrived in days not months. Oh well those days are gone.
Yeah thatās where I miss Monkey Mods, order Monday, at my front door in WA by Friday at the latest! ![]()
Most of the stuff I had ordered was from early Dec last year so as to avoid the Chinese New Year late January, and tracking says that thereās stuff already arrived or about to arrive in the next week or so, then a bit of a gap until Feb/March.
Having a bit of patience has saved me thousands of dollars over the years, getting quality parts super cheap simply due to them being ācontainer fillersā that otherwise would have cost a fortune as immediate shipping ![]()
Yeah Aramax sucks. Had a small part delivered to them a couple of weeks ago. They wont deliver until they have enough volume to fill a van. It got from China and through customs here faster than the delivery since it was handed off to Aramax.
I had the same thing with Aramex⦠and couriers please.
And good help you if you get dragonfly shipping⦠they delivered it to the wrong street entirely! And late!
Iāve had a number of deliveries through dragonfly without issue, and some of them even come on a Sunday with the eta being Monday.
That might be partly the driver thou as I know he works for a couple of couriers so maybe uses his own van and just contracts with them.
Different people, different experiences thou.
I think itās just they havenāt got their shit together on a level we are used to with Auspost. I mean everyone shit cans Auspost but damn they are johnny on the spot with everything and should be being gov subsidised or were or whatever is going on now. Weād be fooked without them. With the age of online buying went apeshit during covid everything from AUspost has arrived 2 days earlier than predicted in the last year which is great. I no complain ![]()
I had to order some parts mid December interstate, I thought oh gawd yep get them in Jan instead of 3 days because of the xmas crunch, nope parts arrived in 2 days bang no problemo. I did read they employed extra temps to run 24/7 and sure enough got a delivery on Sunday. So whoever is managing Auspost doing good in my books as I have to order alot of machinery and farm parts via post as they are only made interstate.
When my phone went for a lap of Australia via Amarex, then they sent a second via Auspost express. I said you bastard, where was my holiday.

Make the most of it while you can mate, because this shit boils down to a day to day basis of whatever ABF agents happen to be rostered on for the day ![]()
yep for sure what he said
unfortunately with the clusterfuck it is and how it operates. Granted they are trying to get naughty stuff by the tonnes that you snort they get over zealous with their powers at times because they donāt know what they are looking at.
Looking to see what my next project will be and was eyeing off a HK417, but I donāt have deep enough pockets to afford a E&C or GE model (being like $1k).
Been looking at the LH model but canāt find spare mags, however if Iām not crazy donāt the GE mags look almost identical? In terms of fees tube and contact placement.
Have contacted iHobby and asked but they reckon it wouldnāt fit, not that they would of tested it.
