I was thinking I should’ve taped up the magazine and painted it black to make it appear a bit more legit, could still I guess if I can find some painters tape laying around in my shed, once it’s got the black rails n extendable stock back on it it’ll look a bit more broken up with the colours
I also painted the orange tip black but it’s cheap shit paint I used so took a bunch of recoats to cover the orange as it kept cracking and orange kept coming back through so it will look a little rough but definitely a learning experience and the next one I repaint should turn out better, but it’s turned out alright for a Temu blaster lol

Tamiya primer is a good base.
Covers the under colour, sticks well to the base, and the top coat whilst preserving fine details.
Tamiya paint is really good…fine, even coat, dries quickly…but expensive.
Rustoleum is thicker, a bit splattery and can obscure detail.
For smaller blasters jobs, tamiya is fine…
As for the black…50 shades of…!!!

One of these landing on the bench soon… QBZ Type 95. Hey, it’s a bullpup. 
The first iteration of these was ABS build, 370 motor, not very ballsy.
The second iteration got nylon build, 460 motor and an ambi mag release. Much betterer.
The third iteration, and one we can now no longer have, has fire select, paddle style ambi mag release and more metal bits.
Damn shame the new laws have meant so many blasters we’ll never get to see. 
I know a guy, what shade do you want it @BME might be able to sort that out

I took them with me out bush for that 6 months I was away and definitely got a lot of use out of them!
That jacket was so good, I even found a genuine matching set of rain pants off eBay that a bloke was selling.
Bloody good at keeping out the cold as well as the rain and damp.

Unfortunately the pants are still a bit new looking in colour compared to the jacket, so I’ll just have to dirty them up a bit
The production date on the tag next to name and service number says July 2003, so pretty recent production compared to the jacket I would imagine?

Reassembled, had to repaint the battery cover as it was left in a sunny spot to dry and it faded a bit, next time I’ll have to paint in the shed
Doesn’t look too bad, could’ve been better if I used better paint but it serves the purpose
Still might paint the faux magazine black to break up the colours a bit more but all in all it was a learning experience
Putting the RC models aside this week to start on 3 Carby rebuilds for a couple of my old customers.
I usually get them Ultrasonic Cleaned and replated to as new Concourse condition, but this WEBER is off an old 1960’s VW Beach Buggy, so the owner isn’t interested in how it looks, as long as it works!
Looking 100% better already now I have cleaned up the outside, considering that it was painted rattle can black and covered in beach sand when I got it, but it hasn’t run in 15 years, so got plenty of work ahead to ensure that all the microscopic little passages and Jets are all clear and working as required.
