Yeah I’ve been pretty much out of touch with the Vodka brands other than Grey Goose at the top end and whatever Tractor Fluid is on special that week.
I was nicknamed “the Vodka Kid” at TAFE and for many years after, as could smash down litres of the stuff all night until dawn and not even blink!
I only have Vodka once a year now on my Birthday that I share with a good longtime Aboriginal mate of mine each year that we get together for a birthday bender, otherwise it’s just summer Beers and Winter Scotch.
Amazing that these were first released in 1958, and I grew up in the 1970’s dreaming of being able to obtain one of these amazing models… but they were very rare and expensive in my young years.
Here we are many decades later and was able to find one of these amazing old REVELL kits online, brand new in the original box, and immediately jumped on the opportunity to finally be able to own one.
Being a Mechanic and builder of thousands of engines over my lifetime, it’s definitely not rocket surgery as to knowing how to put it together, but that’s where the Modelling Hobby side really plays a key part in knowing all the little details to create a successful build.
I would love to make a custom lighting kit for it to make it more interesting for my mentally handicapped Son’s enjoyment, but have only a few days to get this thing together as it is, so will see what I can do.
Beemer’s Sig 552 was only hitting around 140 on the chrono before rework. Fitted a new o ring, AOE pad, gave the dry gears a good grease, realigned the jacked up ambi fire select gearing.
It was only on reassembly that I spotted this… missed it on disassembly.
If China want to drop FPS for compliance, why do something that guarantees you’re going to have to fit a new barrel? A shitty o ring could have acheived the desired FPS drop with a much easier fix to rectify.
Fortunately the proprietry t piece’s clamshell design allows a pretty easy inner barrel swap… no glue.
Salutations to every hardworking and good people in this community
Today I have to announce a thing about this but know that this wasn’t my fault or I did Involve in this activity ( the 2026 Iran war led by 2 foreign governments that nearly cancelled my life ) and now the CNC project and etc is just cancelled because that thing May not arrive or something like that may happen so I truly apologize and I’m in complete depression and sadness because of abusing promises , not reaching dreams and the worst part is that my word got turned into larp . you know what that means ? that mean that I’m an Unreliable guy who larps and also someone who breaks promises And I have no word to say and I have to just apologize for this thing…
Anyways I wish good luck for everybody here, doing their best to create masterpieces out of some ordinary gel blasters and etc…
Respectfully,
Elitium
I had that one one of my blasters too but it was drilled just off the t-piece so was covered by the spring, can’t remember what blaster it was now.
I only noticed it after I had already replaced the barrel, guess it’s the easiest way to limit fps, but would think it’s a quick way to break gels if it’s not a clean hole.
Wow! I worked a quite a few of these and never seen that hole in any JG sigs!
The low FPS thing doesn’t apply to airsoft manufacturers, many of the longer SIGs were around 320-340 out of the box (advertised as 300fps).
Wouldn’t be the first weird thing I’ve seen though I guess…
Holes in the barrels and T-Pieces have been common for quite some time.
As you said, is how the manufacturers reduce their FPS to keep their products within the legal limits.
90% of them have a hole in the T-Piece, so seeing one with a drilled barrel is quite different, but the same end result.
It always pays to strip and check any new blaster with low FPS, as they tend to have a hole drilled in them somewhere!
Young fellas shotty I bought cheap at m4a1 Nambour stopped working again so that’ll be the job for tomorrow
Not sure what happened, we were having a battle this morning, his shotty vs my JG M16a1 then he went to have a shoot with it this Arvo and it just wasn’t shooting, tried to trouble shoot it without pulling it apart, couldn’t get it going, there’s still air coming out with force when cocking it and pulling the trigger but no gels come out
Probably just clogged in the feed tube but means pulling the fkn thing apart again
I was going to suggest… there’s a hole in my bucket dear Liza. But I think that was inappropriate
Bloody hole in bottle of Smirnov didn’t see Midday on Saturday LOL
Got my tractor tyre fixed, I had to call in reinforcements for that bastard was not going how I hoped.
Went up to the biggest hill in the district and watched the sun come up with 2 life long mates. Bloody bugger give me a shove and I went rolling down the hill. Thanks mate. Oh you right 40ft below, that’s why I call you a cunt, oh I’m sorry, I said you fkn will be when I get back up there haha oh dear fun and games. All in good fun. Kinda had to be there moment.
Not quite but sort of. Fkn stitched him up. Yea go on then drink my port. He was a very sad man the next day. Just have a little nip, nah starts guzzling it. I was laughing, ok then don’t cry to me in the morning. He was fucked haha I couldn’t stop laughing. I told you so, you no listen Water, water. So funny been overdue, good fun.
Interesting setup with the trigger mechanism and gearbox, the barrel comes out easily so could potentially replace it with a suitable sized metal barrel but probably won’t, unless I can find one cheap, may grab an el cheapo from ausgel next order and cut to size then sand it but we’ll see what happens
