Have you seen Low Guido pull one of those boxes apart? His recommendation?
Donât do it unless you absolutely have a need to. 
Put me off tearing my VZ down to look at potential upgrades.

i think im crazy enough to do it, just the metal gears and possibly seals if i can find the right ones somewhere

As far as Iâm aware, the gears are all of a smaller diameter than the usual Gelblaster gearboxes, which is the main reason why they are so difficult to upgrade.
For seals could try Totallyseals from UK. Measure up whatâs in it and go from there. Postage is quick, just costs a bit now days, used to be couple dollars.

Might find something equivalent locally too. There is a seal store not too far away from me and they have everything, take your old whatever in and they measure it up to fit. Much cheaper than trying to find original ram seals for FEL.
Theyâre a bit of an arsehole to work on⌠no quick change spring retainer, need to be a bit of an octopus to hold everything in place during reassembly, nice big fat piston spring making things go boing very easily.

i had the same deal when i was working on the gearbox for my mauser c96. But i think it was worth it in the end.
