Getting Wick-y with it..! ( Or...Dog Gone..KELe Tti G34 dress up)

Ok…

Facing the possibility of not much new stock, its a case of “what can be done, with what we have.?”

The KELe Tti G34 caught my eye…

Not a stellar performer, but a decent model, with good finishing…
I’m not a massive John Wick fan, but here’s a cheapy to look at…

Detail on the model is good, but a few things need attention.

1: the white stenciling is just printed on, and will rub off quickly.
Needs a lacquer coat to preserve it.

2: Outer barrel is black…needs to be brass coloured…

Comparo with tactoys 3dg special…

Outer barrel is good on that one…

First, sort out the stenciing.

Cover with masking tape, and spray with ts-80 Flat clear…

A couple of quick coats, and it has come up well.
That should preserve the stenciling…

The silver is the inner barrel.
The outer barrel screws right off, for easy removal.

If all else fails, and final finish is crap, i’ll just go for straight silver…

I unscrewed the outer barrel, and gave it a few coats.

The closest rattlecan colour i could find, was Tamiya TS-46 Light Sand.

I left the black on, and gave it a few coats.

Not the best colour match, but the best available.

50 Shades of brass…??!
  :scream:

At the end of the day, its not a primary colour, and also recessed / hidden within the slide.

As long as it looks reasonable, it should be ok.

To try to match the metallic shine, i gave it a top coat of Semi Gloss Clear…

It looks…acceptable…

It certainly looks " Good enough", if you are not comparing the 2, and just look at it in isolation.

I may give it another coat of gloss, to get it popping…

The real test will be, “Does the Slide Scuff it.??”

The screwed in position, seems to keep the barrel completely clear of the slide, while racking.

I’ll let it dry overnight, and find out 2morrow.

If it rubs…i’ll go back to polished silver metal.

The inner barrel gives a preview of that, and it looks good.

So, all in all, if you want a budget Wick blaster, this aint a bad way of getting one…

T.B.C …

I just wish KELe released a HK VP-70, before the gates closed…

Errrrr… maybe this for your barrel, Beemer?

Get a sausage & onion while you’re at it.

Or if you really want to stick with Tamiya…

its a tough one…

looking at the taccies in the flesh, its more " brass" than “gold”…

But, Tamiya is cheap, cant hurt to give it a try…

Also…barrel clears the slide…no touching…no marking…

Impatient much.?.?

I wonder…

if “Rolex Gold”, is a rattlecan colour…??

$43 9721.00 per can…

And a 2 year wait…!!

Maybe Sig Sauer should partner up, with rolex…

create a all gold, Rolex-Sig P320…

trump’s secret service could use them…

shoot themselves in the foot, more than he does…!!
