Golden Eagle gas shotties...( Or, you need to come out of your Shell)

Interesting, that string is pain tho i wonder if you could replace it somehow or hide it.

Now to wonder how long till it ends up in bits in the workbench thread? im not saying high pound braided fishing line is a option fully but it might work if you can find a way to hide it internaly somewhere and bundle it in there.

m4 mag adaptor is being worked on, credit to Tangalala in the GSAU discord

How are they going about powering the mag? Or they using shaker mags?

they mentioned itll be battery powered but didnt elaborate.

I’d be more interested in making a mag that has less capacity and doesn’t protrude out the bottom with no string… But I guess if you want to use it at a field it’s a decent option.

Mine showed up this morning, will have a more in depth look at it tomorrow but

Gas reservoir is in the buffer tube on these models, according to the manual it came with there’s one version that’s a fixed stock that takes CO² bulbs.

Brass barrel it looks, can’t really see it but it does have a built in hop-up that’s just the slots cut into the barrel.

I don’t actually mind the mag sticking out a bit on this model, kinda looks like an actual mag feed one but with a short mag.

Will investigate additional magazine options in the future thou.

This has got some very decent range too, easily shooting the 15m-20m to the tree in my yard and with a modest spread, used the Ausgel elite V2 that were on hand but will test other softer gels tomorrow and attempt a chrono.

Yeah that protruding magazine does look a little less offensive on the tactical model than on the more traditional shotties, for sure. :+1: I think even I could live with that.

Would look great with a Defiance stock on it… more comfy cheek weld too.

Really diggin’ that tan livery… looks really good. Got me thinking about hitting my Hanke with some paint now.

how’s the balance?
with the gas tank at the back i’d bet it could almost balance on the trigger guard

I reckon if it’s going g to have a mag poking out it might as well go the whole hog and be a bit like a Mossberg 590M

Might have to get one and get my time into the 3d printer.

if there’s a jaycar near you this is a pretty good deal and you can print PA612CF nylon with it with a hardened nozzle

centre point on this one is right on the magwell

So did a chrono just single loading gels and…

I know that energy is distributed amongst all the gels fires but still, if it shoots uneven amounts and happens to have one gel left, thats gonna sting.

Yeah, I got some high readings too…

Also. I fired it completely empty…just a shot of gas.

Sometimes it didn’t register anything…other times it registered around 480 fps on the chrono.
That was obviously just reading the gas velocity.

It must discharge a sufficient volume of gas, that the gas can be picked up by the chrono.

But yeah…it’s still a high fps shottie, far better than the anaemic APS offerings…

At first I was too close and it was giving me readings of like 1500fps at 1200rpm, obviously the gas and there was a visible plume of vapour coming out, took a step back and it was fine.

Making a belt holster for the mags, nothing fancy.

Just waiting for it to print.

Nice work @DChapo !
I have thought about this shotgun… since I only run gas pistols for cqb… and sometimes run the 40mm as a sort of offhand blunderbuss… I think the small shotty could have a place for giggles.
Ordering one! Might just be Gel Ball Nobody’s desperate attempt to remain relevant

I wonder…
There must be a better way , to deal with the tea bag string…
Maybe replace it with fishing wire ( stronger, less visible)
And, have some way of restraining it , so it bound to and travels around the body of the mag, as it retracts.

Maybe even cut a mag in half, so it fits flush…less string hanging out too…

I’m in the process of modelling up an extended magazine too, that weird angle it sits inside the blasters is the hard part.

Was going to try doing a similar style just with a much longer tube.

Will need on field testing but seems to work as intended.

Will upload files when I get home.
