HK SCOMO MK23....(Or, Shhh..! you'll wake the baby..!)

i can confirm it reduces the noise significantly. Its not that much quieter than a GBB without the Can screwed on.

The sound with the can on is a very satisfying thud.

I think I’ve watched too many Kicking Mustang clips… :joy:

hrrrmm … still cant get it off. That vertical wheel seems to spin freely vs unscrewing something. Maybe I need to keep going more.

Looking at the Left side of the pistol, the vertically aligned wheel, in front of the trigger guard, screws UP.

When it’s free, the torch unit pulls forward and off.
Hope this helps.

How are your gels going, getting out of the silencer.?

A fair few of mine shred, on the way out…

Ive pulled it apart, and the foam sections seem ok…

What about yours.?

Ah, it’s obviously faulty, BME.

Better get rid of it… chuck it out. Plenty of room in my bin out the front. :joy::joy:

yep, figured it out … more turning needed

zero shreds when conditions are just right. I’ve discovered if the gels arent wet, they dont push up the mag into the feed lip. Even if i leave them in the mag for 10 mins, they dry enough to stick some. Then they will shred, if they feed at all.

I have to pull the mag out and gently push the spring up to push one into the lip. Im guessing this is a NBB thing as the gel isnt chambered before being shot like a GBB. This would let it dry at the top of the mag.

I also assume with a GBB, the bolt (?) moves forward to feed a gel so gels to underneath
the bolt (ie, the mag) might stay covered and less prone to dry out.

When the gels are feeding, the only shredding i get is on the last few shots as the gas runs out and the hit the end of the Can.

Are you using Green Gas or Duster Gas? I planned on using Duster gas but Brad filled it up and tested using GG. I’ve stuck with since.

Your right about gels being damp.
I used a bit of silicone oil, in the mag track which helps.

Also, i strain my gells, then just one quick touch with a sponge to pick up the bulk of the excess water. Keeping them slightly damp helps the feeding.

Occasionally, it wont fire… pull the mag out, gently push up on the mag spring, then its right.

Mine goes fine with no can, but with Supp on, maybe 1 in 3 come out properly i.e. at full fps. The rest either shred, or come out at low fps, which implies they are touching internally.

Its round sectioned foam, but it seems to be fine, so…??

I’m using green gas.

Definitely lubricate the mag feed tube runners and the follower with silicone oil, along with the bucking rubber and slide rails and trigger mechanism and the internal mechanism and the gas valve and the gas inside the mag and your trigger finger and your left foot and the neighbours cat etc etc and will work much better :ok_hand::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

if it helps for comparison, i would consider my suppressor 99% fine. Its the mag/gel feeding that is my concern.

also, i am only using it to shoot the boy in the back of the head while he bludges on the PS5 too. One shot only so feed not such an issue.

Had a play with BME’s SOCOM MK23 today…

Definitely still on the hitlist… what a great thing. :star_struck:

Although it does seem to need a little fettling to make it feed reliably. I suspect a bit of fine tuning of the mag lips would have it singing. :+1:

The good news, is that “Goats Balls” gells, seem to be the go…

As i said, my green cats were shredding with the supp on, or coming out low fps.

Pretty much all the goats balls were coming out, thru the supp, around 300 fps.!

Saw several consisitent 310 fps shots, with the supp on.!!

And, quite accurate over the short / medium distance.
Sideways veering happening after about 15m.

No need for controlled growth, 4hrs and they settle down to around 7.2-7.3 mm, according to Low Guido…

Excellent results…!!

very nice. When i went into AH to test one before buying, I unscrewed the can to take a look naked. Brad had swapped in a new barrel that ran another 8" into the suppressor. It was hitting the target harder than mine did when pre-checked it before taking.

Might be an option to consider … even a 4" extension leaving some suppressor left.

do u have a link to these miraculous gels pls?

A longer barrel would defintely help accuracy at that FPS.

Would seriously negate the noise suppression though, which I was surprised to find was significant.

Here’s your link :

Yeah, Brad said that he was going to release different length barrels, once a bit more R&D had been done…

Will be worth a look… if it improves accuracy and fps , big score…

350+ fps quiet pistol…!!

With the accuracy of a 12 guage shottie with a five inch barrel

300+FPS is never going to be useable with a pistol length barrel. If you’ve ever tried running a short barrel in an M4 at 320FPS you’ll know what I mean.

And if you run a longer inner barrel on a MK23 to tame that FPS you might as well just get an SMG or rifle length blaster. :man_shrugging: You’ll lose your stealthiness for sure.

Personally, if I had a SOCOM I’d be working on dropping FPS, improving feeding, accuracy and report suppression to make it a super quiet and accurate short range option.

Which is precisely what the real MK23 is.
